Blind: No optic nerves
Q I have a foster-girl who has just turned sixteen, she's been blind since the age of seven (due to an operation for a tumour on her brain, that destroyed her optic nerves). I know God can heal her, and since she came to live with me she also believes God can heal her. We have been praying together and quoting Scripture. Should I be expecting an "instant" miracle or a "gradual" healing. I know God can create a new optic nerve for her. Joy
<< Healing the Sick: Many paralytics with severed nerves and spines have been instantly healed by a creative miracle. There's several examples illustrated in Healing the Sick, and the companion book The Gospel according to TL & Daisy.
A Excellent! You are correct, it's easy for God to make, and re-make, optic nerves from nothing. (Ps. 139:13, Heb. 11:3, Jn. 1:3, Col. 1:17, Mtt. 21:22)
Christ came to destroy the Devil's work (1 Jn. 3:8); cancers and tumours are the Devil's work (Ac. 10:37-38). God wants to heal your foster-child even more than you do (3 Jn:2), eyes were made to see, and all He asks is that we repent from unbelief... and believe this Good News (Mk. 16:15-20).
Get into a Bible-believing fellowship where there are miracles; worship with real believers, not doubters, scoffers, mental-assenters, and make-believers. God promises He confirms His word and message to those who believe it, not to those who doubt or question it. (Mk. 16:20). Be a believer.
Jesus is opening blind eyes everyday around the world, both literally and spiritually. It makes no difference to Him whatever the cause, or sickness, whether it's a pimple, Aids, cancer, paralysis, or blindness. He makes new eyes, nerves, ear-drums, and wombs according to the recipient's faith in Him. Your faith sets the limit.
Be like the Centurion, who truly believed that if Jesus said the word, his servant would be healed. (Mtt. 8:5-13)
Do you think if the servant had no optic nerves Jesus would have refused, or failed, to heal him?
No, that sinner-man believed Christ could fix anything by simply saying the word. Jesus was thrilled, and confirmed he was absolutely right.
Has Jesus ever changed? Has the New Covenant been revoked since He sealed it with His Blood?
Gradual healing or instant miracle? It is according to your faith. Most are instant miracles in meetings, we all enjoy miracles don't we? So believe for one!
That could be your faith, her's alone, or combined.
Be careful of peer-pressure here, let her grow in Christ and genuinely believe herself, otherwise she could lose confidence in you and your message. Once she is healed, she must truly believe, or she'll lose it.
I met a Hill-tribe man completely healed of blindness by Jesus, but he was tempted back into sin, and his blindness returned.
That's the reason Jesus warned the healed cripple to sin no more (Jn. 5:14). So find a good faith-filled fellowship where God is working, and nourish her faith. Get the T.L. Osborn audio message series "Receive Miracle Healing", he once had dozens of blind people healed in a single crusade.

God went to Hell for you
Q: Are there any Scriptures referring to Jesus preaching in Hell during the three days in the grave? Gary
A: Yes, Psalm 16:10 and 18:5 KJV are Holy Ghost prophecies of Christ's sufferings;
For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.
Peter in Ac. 2 KJV, confirmed that David's prophecy was about Christ being raised from Hell and pouring out the Holy Ghost;
Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption...
He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
There are many others confirming that Jesus suffered in Hell, for example; Ps. 22,16,23 and 88. Read Acts 2:26-32 and 1 Pe. 3:18-19 in the KJV, where the Holy Spirit says explicitly that Christ went to Hell for us.
Many Christians, to their shame, are clueless about this Bible fact. It is because they, and their teachers use modern corrupt Bibles that have distorted the word of God. No wonder they possess a meretricious concept of their redemption.
Don't be like them. Please understand your redemption, and the infinite price God paid for you to embrace and enjoy it.
What happened to Jonah was also prophetic symbolism of what was going to happen to the Christ.
Get this... inside the belly of the fish Jonah prophesied, he prayed, and spoke these words, Jo. 2:6b KJV;
"yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God."
Jesus confirmed that the Jews would be given the sign of Jonah, meaning, that what was typified in Jonah would be fulfilled literally in Christ. Mtt. 12:38-40.
I picture the Lad Jesus reading about Jonah in the Scriptures for the first time, and the Spirit of God whispering to Him,
"When you are a Man my Son, when the time is fulfilled, you must go down to the grave, into Hell itself, to redeem all who will believe in you. Now read Psalms 22, 16, and 23. Trust me Son, I'll raise you up again, it will be worth the Price."
The Youth's forehead tightened, He swallowed hard, and His guts knotted. He made the choice to believe and obey. He said, "Yes Father, your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven."
