Here's what you say

First we hear from four non-Christians who reflect typical world-views:

Anon
I know a girl who was raped. She says her baby is a pure evil demon, and she wants to have an abortion before she gives birth to a monster. Is this right? The thing is evil and a monster right?

Lorna
Don't talk about something you haven't been through yourself. Abortion is something you have a right to, if it comes to it and you feel you physically cant take care of a child, and feel it would be in the best interests of your unborn child, then I feel nobody can say you shouldn't have an abortion.

It makes me so mad when people say its wrong. You haven't been in that situation to make a decision on weather or not to have one. So don't comment on it!

Sometimes women who get pregnant don't have the father there, so they would have to raise the child by themselves. If a man can walk away from an unborn child, I think the women has a right to by having an abortion.

Topeka
I had an abortion in 2001, and yes I did regret it, but I also asked the Lord for forgiveness. As far as sinning, no sin greater than the other: Sin is sin. Who are we to pass judgement on someone else. I do believe that at the moment of conception that you have a life inside your body. I do believe that abortion should be illegal. I have had this belief before I had one. As far as Judging someone for their sins, please leave that up to Our Lord Jesus Christ.

FreeThinker
Abortion is a personal choice. A life is not a life unless it has had the chance to live. Whilst you may not believe that abortion is spiritually sound, that it destroys a life, please take a moment to consider the 12 year old girl that is raped and left pregnant. What should she do with the baby that will bring about nothing but grief? It is more humane, in this case, to terminate the pregnancy.

If you do not believe in abortion, if you do not think it morally acceptable, then by all means never have one. But please, do not try to prohibit those who do not share the viewpoint that you do. Abortion is up to the individual.

The following replies are Christian:

Calvin
My mother was raped and that is how my sister was born. My mother never blamed her for who her father is or was. She loved her as if she was conceived in love. My sister became a great day-care teacher and each child she ever kept maintained honour roll status in their scholastic careers. Some were even advanced 1-2 grades because of their abilities.

You have to consider who you are possibly destroying when you commit an abortion. That unborn human could possibly change the world for the better and impact others lives.

However I will admit I am on the fence somewhat on this issue because although I am a strong believer of the rights of the unborn human, I don't want to return to the dark ages when young girls go to the back alley abortion tech instead of a clean, professional clinic. And if the pregnancy is life threatening then abortion should be considered the final option.

I remember what God said to us in the Bible, "Even in the womb, I knew you".

CL
Abortion is murder. If you consider abortion personal choice, then by extension it is my personal choice to murder anyone that I choose because they have become some kind inconvenience in my life. Life begins at conception not at birth. While it is tragic if a lady gets raped and even more so if the rape results in a pregnancy we should not punish the innocent unborn child. If you need to punish someone punish the rapist not the child.

If the victim could not, or did not want to, raise the child there are plenty of good homes out there that would love to have a child of their own. No one would argue that if you gave birth then a day later decided you didn't want the baby and you 'aborted' it would be murder. Abortion is Murder and Murder is not a personal choice.

Thank God that cyber-space has a safe place to go to learn more about our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I am responding to the abortion article... abortion is murder.

I can't believe it is allowed and it should be completely banned. It should not be a choice, for no reason.

The devil is such a liar and deceiver and we should pray that abortion is done away with and do what we can to stop it.

In a society where they say we can do whatever feels good, why do people get offended when we preach of Jesus? We can talk about anything from abortion to gay marriages, but bring in Jesus, people get mad.

As Christians, we have to love and stand up with the Good News and tell everyone in love, what is wrong and right.

I believe, He is returning soon and I hope we do our part for the kingdom. The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. May Jesus be with you all, love, Suzie

Abortion is Murder and I don't care what way you look at it. The world has this thing called Adoption. Most people who want to have an abortion are just ones who do not want to act responsibly. Do not lay down with the dogs if you don't want to get up with fleas. People don't want to take responsibility for what they do and just want to take the 'easy' way out. Think about what you are doing before you get ready to do something. When that child is conceived. The child is living.

MJ
I am sickened that our government allows these murders to take place. As FreeThinker related to the 12 year old girl he is obviously an extreme individual. What about the 99.9% of abortions that are not related to a rape or a child... the choice was made to murder a human being... these children would have the chance to live if their life was not taken by their mother.

Pete
"I knew ye before you were in the womb." Jer. 1:5

Abortion is murdering innocent children. God in the Bible speaks against this. But yet today 'Christians' are getting abortions. Are we so deceived to think that it is right?

AN
In my heart I gently weep for women who go into an abortion clinic to have an abortion. Unfortunately, some of these women are indeed 'Christians'. How can you murder an unborn child when you believe in the Word of God that teaches against it?

That woman has two choices:

1) Let this child enter the world, and be adopted by a loving family.
2) Kill this child, and live with the pain and guilt for the rest of her life.

What would you choose?

Saved By Grace
I believe it is wrong to have an abortion, but we live in a fallen sinful world and should not be surprised that these things happen. I truly don't believe that picketing and trying to prevent people from performing what is a legal right is the answer. Jesus is the answer, these things are just a sign of the times we live in.

2 Tim 3:1,2 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves (not their unborn babes), lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents ungrateful, unholy, etc.

We need to reach out to these lost souls who are keeping the abortion industry so strong, the lost doctors and girls making bad decision after bad decision. We need to pray that God would be glorified by our love for these people, and love everyone with the love of Jesus.

Paint this picture in your mind. An unborn girl is in her mother's womb, she has already grown limbs, is peacefully sucking her tiny finger, suddenly a knife is lunged into her body, imagine this innocent creature's reaction, the pain renders her inactive as her little body is sliced to bits, her bones crushed with other instruments. After being dismembered, her spine snapped and skull crushed, her paste-like remains are scraped away and discarded like filthy garbage.

If this is not considered murder, then we must all be the worst of Barbarians. This sort of killing is not even dealt to the worst of killers, much less an innocent, unborn child!

Slicing and crushing to bits is just one of the many methods of abortion, such as the method used on six month old babies. A corrosive salt is injected into the babies' sac which poisons it and burns off the outer layer of skin. It usually takes up to an hour for the baby to die.

Even worse are the abortionists who perform such grizzly, monstrous acts.

Thinking of how the innocent children are legally murdered upsets my stomach and brings tears to my eyes.

When the murder of an innocent child in the worst and most grizzly of ways can be considered legal, and is supported by many, one can only wonder what other sign people need to be convinced that we are in the last days.

This world cannot go on. Issues like these make me increasingly look forward to Jesus' Second Coming, and the Judgement of all those who commit these 'legal' acts. The sad reality of how innocent children are murdered in the 21st Century as people practice their 'Democracy'.

Colin
During the recent debate on this topic, following the Delaware ruling, I heard a telling thought from a Christian Pro-Lifer, something like:

Pro-Choice people place great emphasis on calling the child "a foetus" or "an embryo", as if it is, 'just a ball of cells'. Yet when they tell you they had it removed they adopt the unavoidable grave tone of voice we all do when dealing with unnecessary death.

Why, since they claim "it's just like having your tonsils out, or a tooth pulled".

The reason is Holy Ghost conviction that they have committed murder.

Grim News:
This week a new born baby was found dead by a river in central England. Her head crushed. She was inside a supermarket plastic bag with items of the mother's blood-stained clothing.

Police investigating the murder have named the baby 'Lilly' and said,

"Baby Lilly has a family, she has a mum, a dad, grandparents, brothers and sisters perhaps. We need to know her background, and how she came to lose her life in such tragic circumstances."

Police also commented that it was possible the mother was in an abusive situation and afraid to come forward, but had left enough information about herself to be traced.

Would anybody reading this have been willing to adopt that child, prevent a mother becoming a murderer, and turn awful, shocking news... into Good News?

Al to FreeThinker...
What if you were that baby of that 12 year old raped girl?

Murder is not a personal choice, sorry...

The option is adoption if she doesn't want to keep the baby, and perhaps every single woman should start using contraceptive pills as soon as they are able to reproduce so if they get raped they won't get pregnant.

By saying this by no means I agree with sex out of marriage, no way, that's fornication, and most abortions are because of fornication.

I'm pro-life and save sex for marriage, the way God intended it to be.

Brother Theo
There is no such word as 'abortion': Murder is the only term for this.

God gives life, and only He has the power to take it back again. We cannot play 'god'. Abortion comes from the enemy 'who comes to kill, steal and destroy'. When we subscribe to this, or tolerate it in our midst, we invoke a curse on our communities!

Repent world!

As for 'rape victims' - our Heavenly Father knows all about this. Yet, He still cares for all parties involved; when we uphold His principles, and do not commit murder, and look after the baby, and provide proper care for this innocent human life, we can be certain that Father God will honour us for this, and bless us.

There is no room for 'humanistic' thoughts on this polarised issue.

Frank
Christians should not be concerned about abortion laws because we do not kill our babies. The rest are perishing like the rest of the world. Only Jesus can cause people to obey Him, not man's law. Jesus said in Luke 13 that unless we repent we will all perish. That includes the parents of these murdered children. If there were one of those children that fit into God's plan, He would save him anyway.

Larry
It's scriptural that some will be judged more harshly than others. Based on what Christ Jesus said, specifically, about children when He was here on Earth, I believe that abortionists will be in for a very rough experience on that Great Day when they stand before God.

Rick
Most people do not want to think that God is sovereign so as a nation we have murdered an entire generation of people. Who knows, one of them could have prevented the 12 year old's rape.

That we could come to a place where we murder over 41 million children, and call it "choice" is a complete abomination to God. God have mercy on America. We did not even make it to our Bicentennial before we began these blood sacrifices to Satan in 1973.

Rita
I think it is the worst thing that can happen. God created these defenceless babies by His own hands, and people are destroying them. Babies have no choice, or anyone to protect them, and it breaks my heart to know it is going on.

I feel it should be illegal personally. If women don't want the baby they should protect themselves, but always have the baby. Then give the child to someone in need who will raise and love the baby.

This to me is murder! I can't believe it is allowed, it needs to be stopped. Someone needs to put an end to this, if I knew how, I would be on the front line for these helpless children.

Jennifer
It is good to see that I have so many concerned brothers and sisters in Christ. I think that we are forgetting one thing here though. The mothers. Until we get to the hearts of the mothers we will, unfortunately, never stop abortion. These mothers are in bondage, spiritual blindness and darkness. When we call them murderers, they harden a little more. It is wrong, no matter how you look at it. We must however look at the root. The lies, deception and the condition of the mothers heart. If we could only reach them, one by one, convincing them that they are as important as that unborn baby, then maybe, just maybe we will see a change. Who knows?

I am Forgiven
Before being born again I had two abortions. Satan reminds me of my sin often. He used my guilt to keep me from my Lord. Abortion is actually more damaging to the soul of the woman. The unborn child has not reached the age of accountability, and thereby is safe with God.

The Lord has forgiven me, but I still deal with periods of depression and regret, but I know that when I am called home, I will see these children that I murdered, and they too will have forgiven me. By the grace of God.

Nancy
I believe abortion is murder. There is no way to sugar coat the truth of this matter. Although we have been given free will, the simple truth remains. I agree with Topeka's comment, because when it's all said and done, Jesus will be the Final judge of all. We will be held accountable for every word and deed.

Debi
I think that most of the world would say that a pregnancy resulting from rape is one of those times when abortion should be allowed; the problem with this view is that "we" are not of this world.

Christians must realise that God promises that "all things" work to the good. That doesn't mean everything, except for a baby conceived by rape. It means all things work for the good of those who are called according to his purposes.

Only salvation can make the difference in the outcome of this terrible situation. God can and will give us the love we need to not only get through, but to love immensely this little life within. I cannot speak from experience, however, I believe that if you stand on the Word of God, this is the only position you could take.

News Dec. 06
UK Department of Health statistics for 2005 show that more than a hundred teenagers a month had their second abortion, in Wales and England. The figures also show that one girl under eighteen has had six abortions. Almost 50 women had undergone eight abortions.

Angela
In response to Lorna: I do not have to have an abortion to judge whether it is right or wrong. God has already judged that when He said, "You shall not murder." As far as some women not having a father there for their child: My two children's father died. Should I now kill them?

Ana
Abortion is murder of an innocent, beautiful, new life that God has formed inside of you. Regardless of whether it was by rape. If you do not feel like you could raise that child at least give it a chance to live. Life begins at conception, not at birth. Ps. 139:13-14

News: Apr. 07
More UK doctors are refusing to carry out abortions on ethical and moral grounds. This has forced the National Health Service to double the number of abortions it passes on to the private sector.

UK abortion advocates fear that there will be a real crisis within five years because of the lack of trained doctors willing to perform the procedure.

However, the number of UK abortions rose to a record 190,000 last year.

Pro-Choice should pertain to the choice to keep your legs closed! And what about the choices of the innocent child? Abortion is selfish. You want to be pro-choice? Choose to wait until you're ready to have children before you get pregnant!

Anon J
I happen to be pregnant and my boyfriend is a born again, but he only just started being a born again. He is really into it, but when he found out that I was pregnant, he wanted me to get an abortion.

He has three other kids, one by me already. She is going to 4 years old so I'm ready for another child, but he's freaking out, so I was wondering if your religion supported it, or was against it. So I could talk about it with him more. I'd really appreciate a message back as soon as possible. I am against it myself, and he says he is too, but he is really freaking about it.

If I could have some information about how to go about this, that would be great, maybe even some literature or something for him to read. Thank you very much.

Colin
Thanks for writing, I'm an English missionary in Asia. You did the best thing.

Please do not consider killing your baby under any circumstances.

Abortion is murder.

Your boyfriend is wrong, and there's a better way out of his dilemma.

Here's a couple of online booklets to read about God's view of abortion too.

Feel free to ask your boyfriend to email me privately, and go with him to talk to the Pastor of his new fellowship.

Kayala
This world needs to start taking responsibility for it's actions! In most cases girls or women get pregnant before they are married and then turn to abortion instead of taking the responsibility. God tells us to wait for a reason, and when we don't, we cant blame anyone but ourselves.

In a case where a girl was raped, it is understandable that she cant deal with a rapist's child, but that is certainly no excuse for murder. There's such a thing as adoption.

Some people may say that it is their right to have an abortion, but it's not, because God says your life is not your own, and the baby you're thinking about killing is definitely not a life that you have the right to take. God is the only one who has the right to take a life.

Mindy
I know God forgave me long ago for my wrong. The prayer that you have helped me in many ways. I need to forgive myself. God has long forgotten my sin but I am the one who can not forgive myself. I would ask of you if you could show me help me to forgive myself. I am punishing myself. I had an abortion sevnten years ago, and have asked for forgiveness so many times. I know that God forgave me seventeen years ago. I do not know how to forgive myself. I know I am blessed by Him. God has given me a wonderful husband of nineten years and two children that are the greatest. How do I forgive myself? Thank you for reading this, and if you can help I would be grateful. I do not know why I continue to punish myself.

Jonathan
God our Father is full of a Love that cannot be contained in words of explanation; His unfailing Love sent His Son to the Cross for our sins, including the sin of murder, for that is what we are talking about the murder of children. You cannot deny that it is life that grows inside of you, it is a life that God has made. He has in His Heart many purposes for this life, that all come from His love for the life He created to share in this Life.

We, in rebellion to Him, chose to ignore His love for us, and walk in our own ways. This is the greater sin; to say that we do not need God's Love in our lives to guide us, and care for us always, and to walk in His ways as He commands us to from our love for Him. We give way to Love, who is God as surely as this Love is the Word who came to dwell among us and show us His Way, the Way of the Father who sent Him, He and the Father are One.

God in His infinite Love has made this the day of salvation; this is the day to know His Love, (John 3:16 KJV).

If you have not repented of your sin, do so now, and know that there is complete forgiveness in the Lord's Love gift to you, His Son's precious death on the cross. (Romans 8:1) Come to the cross, wash yourselves in the Blood of the Lamb, put on the robe of righteousness, let the Spirit of God lead you in all your ways.

Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers. Prov. 17:6

Now have your say

I have always believed once saved: always saved, is that teaching correct, or Can you lose your salvation?
