I've strong opinions about this based on my past. Can you bear a bit of relevant background? I'm a scientist; a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, London, and also have a degree in Zoology, having studied under Sir John Krebs (now a colleague of Richard 'The Selfish Gene' Dawkins of Oxford University). They are currently the UK's most influential proponents of Neo-Darwinian evolution.
I came top in my year at University in Mammalian evolution, and was utterly convinced it was true. I used to mock and sneer at Creationism, the very thought of Creation was contemptible to me.
So I know just how evolutionists think, and how they view Christians proclaiming Creation.
Now here's the point of telling you that: The instant I was saved in 1988, the very same evening, I knew, I just knew in my heart that evolution was a lie, that I was created by the LORD Jesus Christ, and that the Genesis account of Creation was literally true, just as written. God gave me that revelation the moment I was saved, and I praise Him for it. Three decades of scientific indoctrination were blown away in a second by the Living Word.
So I have no time whatsoever for the Evolution-Creation debate. For me, there is nothing to discuss, I believe the Word of God, and so should you. Evolution is a false demonic concept, an article of faith for Neo-Darwinian 'believers'.
I applaud you if you patiently and respectfully try to justify Creation to evolutionists, but I don't. For me it is a waste of time. Preach Jesus to them! It was the Truth who set me free.
You see, no amount of human reasoning and discussion would ever have convinced me that evolution was wrong. It was only after I was saved that I could accept God's Word on the topic at face value.
The subject of whether to teach Creationism in schools is a different matter, and I leave the floor open to you.
Peter
Teaching evolution is compromising God's Word, and a cop-out. Glorify Him who created it all.
Michael
They should have Bible class in school and teach God's Word.
Suzie
I am so amazed at people. They don't mind if evolution is taught, but Creation can not. I don't think evolution should be an option, or 'Intelligent Design' for that matter. What has happened? Man... does the devil have a happy seat with this. The Bible is God-breathed, and it is also a history book. I believe Genesis through Revelation should be taught.
Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
How can anyone look at any, or all, of Creation and believe 'it just happened'.
Before I was saved, Creation is what I couldn't deny. Look at all the flowers, trees, birds, animals, people. We are all so unique, so very different; So special. God is so awesome! The flowers all have different smells, the trees let loose of their seeds, the animals follow His instinct, but His greatest Creation, man, looks elsewhere for answers.
Jesus died and rose for the man He Created in His image.
Genesis 1:26-27 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our own image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."
Colossians 1:16 says, "For by Him all things were created..."
Oh my heart burns for people to accept their Maker, and stop making excuses to live in their sins.
In the Name above all names, and at the Name that every knee will bow, my prayer is for people to repent and accept Jesus Christ now, before they die and it's too late. Our lives are an hour glass; at first breath, it's turned over, and since we can't see when we will die, now is the time for repentance.
In Jesus Christ, Amen.

I feel that teaching both (Creation and evolution) allows God to speak to open minds that demand evidence, and show them how ridiculous evolution, as a theory, is.
PH
Yes, Creationism is needed in school, but be sure everything is discussed properly.
Kristy
I think that all views of creation (yes, evolution included) should be taught in schools so that no one can be accused of not teaching one or the other. All 'theories' should be presented to students.
Denise
I believe Creationism should be taught in schools along with the evidence to support it, especially since no amount of contortion can make scientific fact 'fit' the theory of evolution. It has more holes in it than Swiss cheese. The bottom line is that we can't afford to be politically correct at the expense of our children's souls.
Colin
I agree with Denise. Whilst nobody will ever be saved by reading the Genesis account of Creation, salvation only comes through responding to the Gospel of Christ, many are kept from listening to the Good News by teaching only evolution. Speaking personally, wall-to-wall evolution theory satisfied me enough to keep my ears-bunged up until I was 34.
Ken
Teach both. Let the facts speak for themselves, and there is no doubt in my mind, God wins! Just make sure, you have the facts on both. The evolution argument is based on scientific fact. But just how scientific are their facts? Do the research, and as a starting point, go to the answers in Genesis. Remember Matthew 5:44 and Romans 12:20.
Kevin
I think Creation should be taught in school. But what if someone says that if creation is taught in school, the Hindu, and the way they think the world was created, should also be taught in school?
Donna
With so many trying to remove God from our schools, why are we not trying to remove evolution teaching and Halloween parties?
Amelia
If they are going to teach evolution in schools they should also teach creationism. But if not then I don't think either of them should be taught. I always hated science classes because all the teachers would claimed evolution is true and is the only thing.
News
Today a new museum of Creation opened its doors to the public. A wonderful idea, and a marvellous antidote to the barrage of evolutionary brainwashing our children receive from the media. Give us a report of your visit.

I agree that no amount of human reasoning can make an evolutionist turn to Christ. Evolution is just another tool of the enemy to keep people away from the truth. If fake doctrines and religion doesn't keep people away from the knowledge of God then evolution does with it's so called proof. I am surprised that scientists cling on to this theory even though every shred of it is proven wrong by science itself. It definitely shouldn't be taught in school. What we have is lies in science text books, but as long people can cling on to evolution it will be taught in schools.
Buddy
If you take the lies out of the textbooks there won't be much left to say about evolution. The truth is that the public schools are teaching it as a fact, not theory. Don't believe me? Pick up a 4th. grade biology book and read it. Ro. 1:22.
Christen
If evolution is supposed to be 'scientifically' true, why are monkeys not turning into people, Reptiles into birds, and so on? Shouldn't it still be happening?
We can all argue what we think till we are blue in the face, but God's word says it; we should believe it. Period. All we can do is stand for what we believe in, and know that God will prevail; the Devil is a liar!
Thank God my science teacher was a Christian! She chose to leave out evolution and the "Big Bang" theory.

Three stupid reasons for rejecting Christ
News: Pope contradicts God, again
Commenting on the Evolution - Creation debate, former-Nazi, Pope Benedict declared himself to be an evolutionist, and to stand against evolution and for the Biblical account of Creation to be absurd;
This contrast is an absurdity because there are many scientific tests in favour of evolution, which appears as a reality that we must see and enriches our understanding of life and being.
Thereby denying the Genesis account of Creation, and confirming he is an antiChrist, like each of his 'infallible' predecessors.
Diana
Should evolution and creation both be taught in school? Absolutely! These children's eternal destinations are at stake. I believe that they should be told the Truth, and just how to see the difference between the god of this world, and the God of salvation.
News: Evolutionist kills Creationist
Three backpackers picking fruit in Australia, to finance their travels, became friendly at their campsite. During a social evening at a pub, the Englishman was incensed at the Scottish backpacker's belief in Creationism. Voices were raised in the bar, but apparently the matter settled down before they left.
Later, the drunken Englishman killed the Creationist, by stabbing him with a kitchen-knife, as he was cooking food beside their tents.
Jailed for three years, and may be released in 2009.
News: Mammoth Finding
Another perfectly preserved Mammoth has been found in Russian Arctic permafrost, and analysed in early 2008. It is a baby, with all internal organs intact. Such finds are always reported in the press in the same way:
How did this particular baby Mammoth die?
The corpse was tomographically scanned. The results show that she was still suckling milk, and that her lungs and alimentary tract were clogged with sediment and silt, showing that... you guessed right... she drowned in a flood.
Researchers are now decoding her genome, and will doubtless express further astonishment that it is remarkably similar to living relative's, despite "millions of years of evolution".
You have been forewarned.
James
I talk with many unbelievers at work, and tell them, as our knowledge and technology increase we are proving there is a God that created all things. Evolution is an adult fairy tale that is being taught in schools as fact and the cost for this foolishness is high.
Elizabeth
Remember, God's not allowed in public schools. So homeschool your children, and teach them as God intends.

Incredible creatures that defy evolution DVD
Science increasingly points to creation by The Creator rather than evolution. These DVDs are powerful tools for opening the eyes of those blinded by the myth of evolution
