So much could be said about this important aspect of our Christian lives, but here's a few tips I've learned that keep me hot and hungry.

Remember your first love: Remind yourself of what it's all about, and how you were when you first got saved.

Avoid hypocrisy like the plague, keep your integrity before the Lord. Stay real.

If you find yourself becoming a tad legalistic, you know you are going off.

Read God's Word in the Holy Spirit as though God is speaking directly to you.

Bask in His love, grace, and peace. Especially when you are in a trial.

Do something! Don't get hung up 'finding God's will', get on with something and let Him guide you as go.

Remember why the Sea of Galilee is teeming with life, and why the Dead Sea is dead. If you don't know: Ask.

Get your eyes off yourself, and onto Christ, and the needs of others.

Faith without corresponding action is dead, and it works only through God's Love.

Don't allow your prayer life to become a boring routine. Stop 'praying' and start talking and listening to Jesus, then obey Him!

I've got lot's more, but let's hear yours...

Laurie
Thank you for your ministry. I've been blessed from your website for years.

Today I decided to act upon what I have learned. I shared Jesus with two of my son's friends (aged about 10 or 11). One had already heard about Jesus earlier.

One gave his life to Jesus, and the other 'rededicated'. They got so excited that, together with my son, they are starting a club for kids to come over and learn about Jesus and get saved, starting tomorrow.

They immediately went out to go find kids in our condo complex to tell. One even offered to help me clean up our condo, which is an aside point, but something I had prayed for help with. Praise God!

Colin replies: Wow... Isn't that beautiful! You'll find no greater pleasure on Earth than leading sinners to The Saviour. Get them some of these Cartoon tracts for kids to use in their evangelism.

What to do when the desire to spend time with God is gone, and the fire that you once had is gone?

Colin replies: That's easy! Repent and do the things you did at first. Rev. 2:5. Walk in His Love, Peace, and Joy.

Get your eyes on Jesus, focus on what He's done, and is still doing for you.

Read Ephesians Chs. 1-2 and get filled with the Holy Spirit, and stay filled. Eph. 5:18.

Learn to ignore feelings, and trust entirely in what God says. We live by faith not feelings and moods.

Soul-winning is what you are here for, and nothing else will give you such a kick inside.

Obey His final command: Go and tell this good stuff to all the world. Now!

Growing in Christ is something that I work at everyday, and is the best thing that ever happen to me. I no longer worry about problems in my life, and it has brought me and my wife closer together. You see, when I came to Christ, and put my love for Him first, the love for my wife was allowed to grow even more.

The word of God - read it daily, communication - prayer in every situation, fellowship, and the Holy Spirit's guidance, are all essential factors in true spiritual growth. God knows what's in our heart, and He loves to hear us cry out to Him in all honesty. Formal words are not important just talk to Him.

My Goal is to grow into the full measure of the stature of the LORD Jesus Christ. He is our example: He grew into the full measure of His Father.

You must be washed in the Word daily. Hide his Word you in your heart so you do not sin against Him. Repent when sin enters, and enjoy being born again. Don't look at life as a series of events. Live life as a journey, walking in your Saviour's delight.

I have been a 'Christian' all my life, or at least I thought so. It was not until recently, when there was so much pain and desperation going on in my life, that I turned to the wrong things to feel satisfied. Needless to say, they left me unfulfilled. I remembered what my parents taught me about God when I was younger, and truly felt in my heart that I needed to trust Him, and always be true to Him.

[Mike then turned to Christ through reading How to be Born Again, and prayed to receive Him as Lord. Colin]

I feel so free and for the first time in my life, I really feel alive. It's funny how it sometimes take us to be placed in the fire to know that God never leaves us, and in the toughest times of my life, He carried me.

I am looking forward to having a new life, pleasing and filled with the things of God.

I encourage everybody to get into the Word daily, and keep it a priority along with prayer and thanksgiving. I also encourage everybody to have good Christian friends to uphold you, and keep you accountable for your actions. Fellowship is one of our main purposes in this world, and it helps us to maintain a strong relationship with Christ. Don't give up on God. He sometimes teaches us patience, and is always on time. I am looking forward to the things that God has in store for my future. I want to thank God for His grace, the peace He has shown me which truly does pass all understanding. Praise the Lord! His Love Endures Forever! His Grace is Sufficient for All of Us!

Have you ever wondered why Jesus had to wait until He was thirty before embarking on his final ministry. All those years making stools and door frames, feeding the chickens, and helping to raise his brothers? Recall, He never sinned once, was filled with wisdom from birth (Lk. 2:40), yet still grew in wisdom (Lk. 2:52).

Knowledge is of the head, the soul; wisdom is of the spirit. You learn knowledge, but wisdom is God's gift. Add to this the fascinating thought that He learned obedience from what He suffered. Heb. 5:8.

I just wanted to say that I too was bound by addictions and life on the streets for nine years, but Jesus Christ has set me free. Broken my chains! I have new life. Everywhere I go Jesus spills out of my mouth, I am on fire, praise God! I am glad that I am on call for God 24 hours a day, to be a light for those who are still bound, telling others that Jesus can set them free.

He is still the same yesterday, today and forever.

I pray that some Christians would get this fire in their hearts as well, to get outside of their own fellowships, and realise that there are people dying spiritually, and it is upto us to take the Gospel to them. It is a priority, we have truth, and The Truth will set them free, God does not lie. Amen

Steven
Hello all, I feel I am getting stale. Can anyone tell me how to keep the fire in my heart, and not let it get snuffed out by Satan? Any personal experiences? (Jer. 29:11)

Colin
Start doing what Sharon does Steve, walk with the Living Christ, be His Hands and Feet, and lead sinners to Him. Read Eph. Chs. 1 and 2, follow the tips in my first post, and you won't look back. Just do it!

Kindly help me to know more about salvation through Christ alone. After reading your articles, I have accepted Christ as my only Saviour. I realise that my 42 years in Catholicism have been wasted. I was greatly indoctrinated. At first when my friend gave me your site's url, I could not believe it, but now I accept Jesus is the only Saviour who can save me. Please send me more information that I can share with my husband, so he too can be saved.
