It is a proven principle of managing refugee orphans. Supply them with one thing, and their survival rate is doubled.

What is this Wonder Worker?

Oral re-hydration therapy perhaps? No

Broad spectrum antibiotics? No

Food, and warm blankets? No

This remarkable doubling of survival is achieved by simply giving them a teddy bear.

A Christian missionary who helped thousands of Cambodian orphans, a by-product of Pol-Pot's satanic experiment in tyranny, discovered a wonderful benefit from giving each orphan its own survival kit.

Not of food and vitamins, but a small suitcase containing;

• A pillow with the orphan's name on it.
• A notebook, pencil and sharpener.
• Toothbrush and soap.
• A change of clothes.
• A ball to play with.
• And a teddy bear.

The missionary found that these few belongings gave the child a focus and identity that enabled them to overcome their horrendous psychological traumas.

Six year olds had been forced to witness their families slaughtered like pigs. Many had been struck mute with horror, and been silent ever since.

But soon they could be seen whispering to their teddy bears on their pillows, and given time, were able to talk with people, who helped them overcome their horrific experiences.

This moves me very much. I'm sure it moves you too.

It illustrates that which God says is our paramount need;

Unfailing Love and Friendship

Of course, the love and companionship of a teddy bear is imaginary. But it does highlight the inbuilt need for the real thing.

These orphans crave perfect love, and God says you and I do too;

What a person desires is unfailing love. Holy Bible Pr. 19:22

Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning. Charity never faileth: Ps. 143:8 1 Co. 13:8 KJV

The only source of unfailing love is Almighty God, the Lord Jesus Christ. The only friend who will never leave you is the Lord Jesus Christ.

All human 'love' is flawed. It has limits. Even a mother's love is limited to her own child.

God is Love.

He is the Expert Lover.

He made you for love, He made you to love and be loved.
His idea was that love be made complete by being shared among us.

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: 1 Jn. 3:16a KJV

Your best friend may be willing to die for you, but Jesus died in your place even when you were His enemy.

while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Ro. 5:8 KJV

And your best friend's blood will not wash away sins. Only the sinless Blood of Christ can wash away your sins.

God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 1 Jn. 4:16-17 KJV

Since an imaginary reply from a cuddly toy can save a child's life, just imagine what the Real Love of God will do for you, and everyone around you.

Jesus Christ is alive, His Life is real. His Love is real. Receive Him as Lord and Saviour

And He will never leave or forsake you.
