Saved from What?

© 98-12 Colin Melbourne

I'll never forget the face of a man who was about to step into the electric chair. He spotted a camera recording the event. The unrepentant murderer grinned with bravado. As if to say,

"I'm not afraid to die."

Seconds later he was smoking-dead. Such an attitude comes only from profound ignorance of the truth. Had he even a glimmer of the true fate awaiting him, he would never have been so stupid.

All That Comes From Sin, Satan and Hell

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Holy Bible Rev. 21:8 KJV

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Rev. 20:15 KJV

Hell is so awful, even demons tremble at the thought of their destiny.

How that condemned man regrets his mistake now. God would have forgiven him had he truly repented, and received Christ as Saviour. It is too late for him, and he has all of eternity to recall his foolish smile when facing his first death.

This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; 1 Tim. 1:15 KJV

Being saved from Hell is wonderful. But God offers so much more in salvation. Through genuine faith in Christ, a believer has a right to be saved from sickness, infirmity, Satan's power, evil spirits, guilt, pain, condemnation, loneliness, inferiority, poverty, shame, religion, ignorance, aimlessness, fear, failure, confusion... the list is endless.

In fact, saved from everything that comes from sin and Satan.

But best of all is knowing God and His love forever.

That unrepentant murderer, never knew God's love for him. He never will.

What about you?

If you have received Christ, and been born of God, claim your full inheritance. All the blessings promised to Abraham come to every true believer in Christ, and more.

The Holy Spirit says:

For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. 2 Co. 1:20 KJV

That means any promise God has made, and there are thousands in His Word, as a believer in Christ, you can claim for yourself.

That is not just Good News: It is salvation, and it's free.

Let's tell the world
