Q: What books would you recommend for a new Christian believer?
A: Spend the first six months reading nothing but the Holy Bible NIV and KJV, and stay in the Gospel of John, and the First Letter of John.
Then, in your daily Bible reading, gradually go through Acts, Romans, the other Epistles, and other Gospels.
Read only the New Testament, so you avoid getting confused between the Old and New Covenants, like so many do. Don't look at the OT until after you've grasped the message of Hebrews.
Once you are grounded in your full redemption, I'd get plenty of Smith Wigglesworth, E. W. Kenyon, and T. L. Osborn. Wigglesworth had the perfect balance of the Word and The Spirit in action.
T.L.'s Healing the Sick is essential for your healing ministry.
Q: Is it possible to be perfectly righteous, or does our sinful nature always let us down?
A: Great question! Here's the Bible answer: Every single born again believer has been made perfectly righteous by the grace of God. 2 Co. 5:21 is the heart of the Gospel of Redemption, and until you embrace it wholeheartedly you will fail to walk in the fullness of Life that Christ died to give you. It is the Gift of God, given by grace, not by works. Eph. 2:8-9.
Are you perfectly righteous? The believer's sinful nature was crucified 2000 years ago with Christ, and has no dominion over them whatsoever. Ro. 8:1-17, Gal. 2:20, 5:24.
Q: Are all of us naturally evil?
A: Yes, to the core from birth; both men and women, Ro. 3:9-20, Jer. 17:9. That is why you must be born again by faith in the Only Righteous Man. His Blood will make you righteous, holy, and acceptable to God. Do you want to become righteous?
Q: Where in the Bible does it say that God 'hates' something?
A: Both His Word and Holy Spirit tell us He hates lots of things, and commands us to do likewise: hate evil Ps. 97:10, I hate every false way 119:104, I hate and abhor lying 119:163. The LORD hates; pride, lying, killing innocents, evil heart, sowing discord, etc. Pr.6:16. Falsehood, Pr. 13:5, Stealing, Is. 61:8, Idolatry Je. 44:4, Pompous religious feasts, and palaces, Am. 5:21, 6:8. Hate what is evil. Ro. 12:9, and of course God says, I hate divorce Mal. 2:16 NIV.
Why do Christians anoint with oil, is it Biblical?
A: Yes, Anointing the sick with oil is commanded in Jas. 5:14-16. When combined with believing prayer, the Lord promises to heal the sick person.
Q: Why did God condemn the Israelites for making a calf idol, yet later tell them to make twelve in 2 Ch. 4:4? Ron
A: He didn't Ron. In Ex. Ch. 32, Aaron and the Israelites made an idol to worship, which is sin. In 2 Ch. 4:4 Solomon followed the instructions of the Lord in making furnishings for the Temple he was commanded to build, where the Lord was worshipped. Note: Under this New Covenant dispensation God's Temple consists of believers in Christ. 1 Co. 3:16, 6:19. Not buildings, not furnishings, and definitely no idols of any kind!.
Q: Got any Christian children Bible stories?
A: We have plenty of Bible stories for children.
Q: Who are the most notable women preachers?
A: The first person to proclaim the Good News was a woman, personally ordained by Jesus. Jn. 20:17-18. In modern times the most outstanding women preachers have been Maria Woodworth-Etter, Catherine Booth, Polly Wigglesworth, Aimee Semple-MacPherson, Kathryn Khulman, and Daisy Osborn. We need more, lots more.
Q: What is the significance of Fox's Book of Martyrs?
A: It is a vital record of the valiant Reformation defence of the Gospel in England. True accounts of believers tortured and burned alive for resisting Catholic domination and false-teachings.
Every Christian needs to read it, but be sure to avoid the versions corrupted by Catholics. This is the best edition of Foxe's Book of Martyrs.
Q: What does the New Birth mean?
A: The same as Being Born Again.
Q: I'm a sinner, a fornicator, and a drunk. Will God help me?
A: If you are tired of your sin, and truly want to repent and begin a New Life in Christ, He's waiting with open arms. He will give you the power you need to break free of every evil habit. Do you want to be clean, and washed of all sin? Then You are ready to be Born Again.
Q: What are Messianic Jews?
A: This is a tricky area, because there are genuine Christian Jews who accept Christ as The Messiah just like Jewish believers in the New Testament. They call themselves 'Messianic Jews'.
However, there's a whole spectrum of Jewish groups using the same label who reject Christ, and are 'still waiting' for the first coming of the Messiah.
Still other 'Messianic Jews' try to do the impossible by claiming Christ as Saviour and obeying the Torah Law. There's a lot of legalistic Jewish groups who try to seduce Christians, even Gentiles, into obeying the Jewish Law, and it is very dangerous, as God explained in Galatians Ch. 3-5. Understand clearly that The Law cannot save anyone. Gal. 3:11.
Q: Did Jesus obey all the Jewish Laws, and if so should Christians?
A: Christ was born under the Law, He observed, and fulfilled, all the Mosaic and Levitical Law. Then He gave Himself to release those who trust in Him from the Law. Christians are under grace, not law. Ro. 6:14, Col. 2:13-19. They are set free from the Law, being justified by faith in Christ's finished Sacrifice. God warns Christians to stand against those who try to burden us with the unbearable yoke of the Law. Gal. 5:1.
Q: I was saved as a little girl, and it was too long ago to remember, does that mean I'm not actually born again?
A: There's no such thing as drifting into Christianity. Many people claiming to be Christian are merely nominal church-goers; not born again, they are unsaved and Hell-bound. If you don't know when, where, and how it happened, you need to Be Born Again.
Can anybody 'forget' when they chose to turn from sin, receive The Creator, and He came into their heart making them a new righteous creature in Christ?
Religion, rites, and rituals, are forgettable, and useless to save: The Real Thing is eternal. Get it!
Q: Re: The Woman Question Should I read 1 Tim. 2:13 as husbands were created first not wives, and husbands were deceived not wives instead of using women and men there? Frank
A: No Frank, there the Greek NT, KJV, and NIV, each use the names of Adam and Eve, not the word gyne, which is used in 1 Tim. 2:11-12, 1 Co. 14:34-36.
Q: What happens to people who die without ever hearing the Gospel of salvation by the Blood of Jesus?
A: See Ro. 1:18-20, the NIV is best here. Also Ac. 17:24-31, and Ro. 2:12-16, then ask Jesus to show you the answer.
Q: Got any tracts in Indonesian language?
