The sexual sin trap

Q: Last year I rededicated my life to Christ. I was on fire for Him, and lived everyday of my life for Him. This year, my girlfriend and I fell into the terrible sin trap of sex before marriage. I was sorry, but it kept happening. I have since asked for forgiveness for this sin, and turned away, but my question is; will God take me back even though I had already been saved before all this happened? Brandon

A: Fornication is a deadly sin. The deceptive, and fleeting, pleasure of sin, has a huge cost. The wages of sin is death: Somebody has to die.

The Glory of the Gospel is that God came and died to release you from slavery to sin. Christ suffered the full penalty for our sins once and for all. (Is. 53:4-5, Heb. Chs. 8-10) His resurrection proves the New Covenant is in force, and that believers are set free.

Your obligation to Our Saviour is to obey Him from love, and He provides the power to do this. Jn. 15:23-24, 1 Co. 10:13. It is not difficult, His yoke is easy, and His burden is light.

Those Christians who choose to sin; lose fellowship with Father, forfeit many blessings, and are in great danger of premature death. 1 Jn. 1:6-7, 1 Co. 11:30-32. Brandon, meditate on those verses and you'll learn from your experience.

Precious Purity

Will He take you back? He hasn't rejected you: You rejected His Word. He hasn't moved: You ran into the darkness, it is entirely up to you to repent and return to the Light.

You will only find peace and assurance by doing this in a genuine heart to heart encounter with Father. Get in your prayer closet, alone with God, and ask Him to forgive you, and listen to His reply.

You will discover the wonder of what it means to no longer be under Law, but under God's Grace. (Ro. Ch. 6)

Can a pastor prophecy?

Q: What is the difference between a prophet and a pastor? Can a prophet be a pastor, and vice-versa? Daniel

A: Two books by Kenneth Hagin, "The Holy Spirit and his Gifts", and "The Ministry Gifts" will answer all your questions about this topic.

But keep in mind that, according to the highly respected Kittel's "Dictionary of the New Testament", the biblical use of the word prophecy is far more wide-reaching than merely bringing a word of prophecy (as understood in Charismatic circles).

When you grasp its full meaning, then the answer to your question is, yes of course. But get the Hagin books and start there.

In the world, but not of it

Q: I have been born again. I have friends who are not. I have tried to talk to them, and also invite them to church. How long should I persist. I think they are negative to me, and my family. Should we continue to associate with non-believers? Brian

A: The only place you'll be able to avoid non-believers is Heaven, down here I'm afraid they're indigenous, until Christ returns and blows away the chaff.

He separates the sheep from the goats

Learn to listen to the Holy Spirit in your heart, He will lead you to the people who are ready, and He will give you all you need to witness effectively of the Living Christ in you. It's great fun, and much more effective than following a set evangelistic method.

Brian, you are unique in Christ, He wants you to be yourself in Him, and He will surely use you as you reflect His compassion and love for those lost sheep without a shepherd. E. W. Kenyon's course in personal evangelism will point you in the right direction.

Bird flu, and Bluetongue virus are running rampant throughout Europe, and Christ warned us it will only get worse... Are you ready?
