Misuse of tongues

Q: When is the use of "tongues" inappropriate? Alice

A: Messages brought by an individual, to a group, in tongues, must always be interpreted, otherwise the speaker in tongues should be quiet. See 1 Co. 14:6-28.

The use of personal tongues in prayer, praise, and worship (Eph. 6:18, 5:18-20, 1 Th. 5:17) need not be interpreted, and can be conducted freely in believer's meetings, as long as it is orderly.

In the presence of unbelievers it is best to use wisdom and tone it down, or they may think you are bonkers. However, sometimes He actually uses prayer and praise tongues to convince unbelievers. As in Acts 2.

Smith Wigglesworth gives a wonderful example of how God used tongues to convince a sceptical scholar of Hebrew of the validity of the baptism.

So follow the Spirit, and you won't go wrong or embarrass Him.

Power from on high

Q: I would like to know more on the Baptism by the Holy Spirit. Liza

A: Read The Power Baptism, and be sure to get Ken Hagin's books on this vital subject

Church of Christ ICC

Q: I used to go to the "Church of Christ" but I left because I felt I was at a standstill there. I went to another church that uses musical instruments, and the ICC condemns them for it. Tell me what you think of the "Church of Christ", and their instrument doctrine please, I would really like to hear your thoughts. Donnie

A: It was the Spirit of God who led you to leave because the ICC is a cult, not a Christian organisation. The ICC have many serious false-teachings as well as their quirky foible over musical instruments.

Get saved the Bible way, and ask the Lord to lead you to a genuine Spirit-filled Christian fellowship.

Narnia and Lord of the Rings

Q: What are your opinions on Narnia, and The Lord of the Rings? Adam

A: C.S. Lewis was a nominal Christian typical of many English church-goers. Very few Anglicans are actually saved because they long ago abandoned the Gospel in favour of their creeds, rites, and man-made rituals, such as "Christening" and "confirmation". Many nowadays even hold the blasphemous Mass. They are all-but Catholic in name. Dead wood.

The Narnia Chronicles are at best morality stories, substituting a wooly allegory for the Truth.

Sinners need the Gospel, not feel-good fairy stories. Christians crave the Bread of Heaven, not MacReligion burgers.

J. R. Tolkein was a friend of Lewis', and a full-blown Catholic idolater, so it is no surprise he penned such demonic nonsense as Lord of the Rings.

The Adventist Cult

Q: I have attended some Seventh Day Adventist meetings and find their study of the Bible intense. I would like to hear your opinion of this church. Joy

A: It is a demonic counterfeit of Christianity, a cult based on the unbiblical teachings of the serial false-prophetess Ellen G. White. You can find out more about the SDA cult here.

Yoga

Satan is using Yoga to seduce the gullible

Q: How does Yoga conflict with Christian beliefs?

A: Completely, it is idolatry. Here's why real Christians have nothing to do with Yoga.

Paul spoke in tongues more than the Corinthians he rebuked for it

The world gets drunk on spirits, Christians get drunk on the Holy Spirit. Ro. 8:9, Eph. 5:18
