Q: I am a single born-again Christian. I met a man married to his wife (both are Catholics). They divorced. He came to know the Lord, and is now a Christian. His wife is involved with another man. Will I commit adultery if I marry this man? Lani
A: It sounds like you helped their marriage break up. To 'marry' him now would be foolish, and his 'conversion' is, in any case, deeply suspect. Has he genuinely renounced Catholicism? I doubt it. Idolatry and adultery are bed-fellows and partners in deadly sin. 1 Co. 10:1-8, Rev. 22:15.
You as a Christian cannot contemplate marrying him, rather, you ought to be praying for him to go back to his wife, redeem their 'divorce', and get her saved. Your Lord is a Redeemer, not a home-wrecker, follow Him Lani.
Q: My husband claims to be born again, but does not believe in the inerrancy of the Bible. He says I am narrow-minded. We have been married thirty years, during which he's maintained his belief that the Bible is full of allegories and symbolism. What do you think about this? Sally
A: He's a make-believer, not a real believer. When he gets saved, he will know the Holy Bible is the Word of God, and he will honour The Word, not mutilate and make an idol from it to suit his own ideas.
Hang in there Sis', and keep believing for his salvation. Remember the Lord wants his heart, and will only accept it when your husband offers it to Him. Jesus won't force him, and you also must respect his prevarication.
It's tough, but the only way. Let him know you know he is unsaved, then back off, love him, and give the Lord the problem. You need to display the same courage and wisdom Polly Wigglesworth got from Christ. Look what her husband became and who he honoured.
Q: What foods are allowed on a "Daniel fast"? Lois
A: Do you think Daniel ever asked such a question Lois? Of course not, he was led by the Spirit to fast, and so he fasted as the Spirit showed him.
He was a Jew under the Old Covenant living in a pagan (pig-eating) palace. You are a Christian under the New Covenant.
There's a massive difference.
Only fast when the Lord leads you, and when He does, you will know how to fast, why, and for how long.
Read Hagin's little book A Commonsense Guide to Fasting, so you avoid becoming unbalanced.
Q: I was baptised in 1979 in a Pentecostal Church in London. I expected the words for me to speak in tongues would come supernaturally, but it never happened for two years. Then an evangelist visited the church and said to me, "just say that word that has come to your mind, say it, take it by faith".
Is, or was, that correct? Though I spoke unintelligible words then, I did not continue because it seemed so easy. I later worshipped in a Baptist church for fifteen years. Now I am visiting a Pentecostal church and intend to worship there permanently. David
A: Yes, he was right. The supernatural part is the Holy Spirit giving you the words to utter, the speaking of them is up to you; that is why he urged you to say what was in your mind. (Conveyed there from your spirit, filled with the Holy Spirit).
I encourage you to read Ken Hagin's excellent books on tongues. I think you now realise that you have been neglecting something vital in your Christian walk.
Read Ro. 8:14 and 26-27, then recall those times over the last fifteen years when you felt weak and confused, yet had to make a major decision in your life. We need the Living Word and The Holy Spirit to guide and empower us.
