Nightmares, divorce, & many problems

Q: I am a sinner saved by grace, but I am a law abiding sinner, and a good person. Isn't there a time when Jesus will not permit our accuser to continuously pile it on. I just feel I need a breather from all that has happened. Jaye

A: You simply need to 'catch-on' to what Christ has done for you, and embrace what He says you are in Him. It is clear from what you write that you still see yourself as a sinner, instead of a righteous new creation in Christ. You have yet to accept that Jesus has made you righteous, completely defeated your enemy, and given you authority over him.

Bible Basics

Kenyon on Salvation
A New Creation

The old has gone and the new has come the instant you receive Christ. This book will revolutionize your walk with God

Unless you embrace these Gospel facts, and use the authority and power Christ offers, the Devil will continue to hold a circus in your life.

Believe all the Good News, not just part of it. Start reading some Kenyon, Osborn, and Hagin, and you will see what you've been missing all these years.

You'll find that you've been asking Jesus to do for you, what He's already told, and equipped, you to do.

The KJV or Modern Bibles?

Q: Are Bibles other than the KJV, such as the NKJV, NIV, and others, a tool that Satan uses to confuse and distort the True Word of God? Kim

A: See Which is the best Bible Translation? and KJV only?

Jewish Bible and Holy Bible

Q: Does the Christian Bible depend on the Hebrew Bible?

A: Interesting question. The word 'depend' is problematic, because it implies the New Covenant itself relies on the Old Covenant. It doesn't, they are separate Covenants God has made.

Which one are you under? It is only possible to keep one, and it isn't the Old.

But of course the Holy Bible includes the Hebrew Scriptures, the Law (Torah), Prophets, and Hagiographa. (Remember the Talmud is not scripture). The Saviour-Messiah, the LORD Jesus Christ, is the constant theme through both Covenants. Symbolised and pointed to in the OT, fulfilled in the NT.

Our mission is simple: Proclaim the Good News, of the New Covenant until He returns. Mtt. 28:16-20. Some evangelists like to proclaim The Law to get sinners convicted, but usually both preacher and hearer get confused between the Covenants. Judaizers further muddy the water by chattering about 'Hebrew roots'.

Sinners are already under conviction Jn. 16:8-11, that's why Christ told us to go and tell them the Good News.

Baptism in the Holy Ghost

Q: What if you've never spoken in tongues, but you have had a Word of Knowledge, which is also a gift of the Holy Ghost, and it was accurate? Dustin

A: If you don't have tongues, you are not yet Spirit-filled, according to the Bible evidence. But any believer can, indeed should, have close fellowship with God, and the Holy Spirit may certainly give them a word. For example in guidance, comfort, or warning, but this is not the same as actually having the Gift referred to in 1 Co. 12:8.

The first time I met somebody who had the Gift of Word of Knowledge I was stunned by the accuracy, abundance, and specificity of each of the Words given to various people whom I knew personally, but the speaker didn't. Every word was spot-on, and from the Lord.

It's the same with healing, any believer can heal the sick in Jesus' Name (Mk. 16:18), but the person who has the Gift of healing, as in 1 Co. 12:9-10, works at an entirely different level.

We are to earnestly desire the Gifts of the Spirit 1 Co. 14:1, the first step is to get filled with the Holy Spirit; when you are filled, you will have tongues.

What is my ministry?

Q: Do we all need to be in ministry?

A: Indeed we do! If you are not ministering God's love, Word, and Spirit, wherever you go, you are missing your purpose on Earth.

Do we all need to be pastors, apostles, teachers, or prophets as in Eph. 4:11?

Only as God calls you to a specific ministry post, but all believers should be ministering.

Tip: If you find yourself switching into churchy-mode when you go to a service, you'll know something is wrong in your walk with God. Be yourself in Christ, and walk in His love always, wherever you are. Don't be an actor, or pretender, be a Christian. God knows the phonies, and sinners soon spot them too.

Set the captives free

Q: How do I begin a prison ministry?

A: The fact you are asking is a sure sign God is leading you into it. Simply follow the compassion in your heart, go to your nearest prison, and ask to talk to some prisoners.

Everything you do should be God's will, done His way

Say whatever comes to mind at the time. It may be just chat, or some news items, but the Lord Himself will open a door for you to share the Good News in a natural comfortable way with those you visit. Well done for caring, now go, you will be a blessing, and be blessed.

God isn't going to do any more about your sickness, He has already borne it in your stead.
