Is it God or The Devil?

Interpreting dreams

Q: I am blessed by the Grace of God and filled with the Holy Ghost. I recently had a dream of people dancing with white robes and laurel wreaths. They were happy and singing a song in a tongue. What is the best way to get an interpretation, and confirmation that song is Godly? I have the words written phonically. Will

A: If the dream was of God, and not due to eating durian and chilli-anchovies, then simply ask Father for the interpretation. If you don't get it, then you can safely ignore it.

God certainly can speak to us in dreams and visions, but there's a danger from counterfeit manifestations. Don't let the Devil fascinate or distract you with 'mysteries', instead, be busy about the business Father has made abundantly clear.

Why was Jesus baptised?

Q: Please explain Mtt. 3:15; where Jesus says, 'suffer it to be so now'. David

A: Christ wanted John to baptise Him in water, saying, Let it be so now. NIV. Did Christ need to repent? No, He was sinless, so why be baptised as a symbol of repentance?

Two simple reasons; firstly obedience, He was doing exactly as Father told Him, and was later commended audibly for this as a witness to the onlookers. Mtt. 3:17.

Secondly, it's one of the many examples of Christ's substitution for, and identification with, sinful man. It is the heart of the Gospel.

Redemption

These Christian classics are essential reading for those who want to grow in Christ

He was innocent, sinless, but chose to take our place, to redeem us from all guilt. Nobody comes close to E. W. Kenyon in majestically illuminating this aspect of Jesus' ministry. Read his little book, Identification and his article, Raised with Him, they are breathtaking.

Redeemed

Q: What is the difference between saved and redeemed.

A: They are almost synonymous. Saved means rescued, delivered, healed, restored, made whole. Redeemed means much the same, but emphasises the aspect of legal payment. Our sins are paid for, we are bought back, through the Blood of Christ. Eph. 1:7, 1. Pe. 1:18.

You can see why we love to proclaim redemption. The price has already been paid in full to set sinners free from sin, condemnation, and sickness, once and for all. Will you go and tell them?

Something's wrong

Q: I've been baptized about five years. But I admit I'm still committing a lot of sins. I feel very guilty, and I don't feel like a new born again Christian. Should I get baptized again?

A: Why the focus on water baptism, Baptism doesn't save you, or make you a Christian. Are you perhaps in a cult, who are teaching that you are saved at the time of water baptism? If so, get out, and get saved the Bible way.

The power to overcome sin comes in the New Birth, not water baptism. When you are born again you will receive a new righteous nature, you will know you are a child of God, no longer a slave to sin.

After death

Q: After death where does the spirit and soul of a born again Christian go? Gershom

A: Straight to Heaven. 1 Th. 4:13-14, 2 Co. 5:8. But have you ever considered why people die? There's a series of articles on life and death here.

What is the soul?

Q: What's the difference between the soul and the spirit? Steve

Your spirit must rule your soul

A: Soul refers to the mind, will, feelings, and emotions.

Your spirit is you. You are a spirit, who lives in a body, that has a soul.

Christians live and walk by their spirit (heart), renewing their minds in accordance with God's Word. They break fellowship with God when they don't keep in step with the Holy Spirit, in their spirit. (See 1 Th. 5:23, Ro. 8, 12:1-2).

Also understand the importance of your Conscience to your walk with God. Both Kenyon and Hagin are excellent on this important topic.

It takes guts for a youth today to stand out from the crowd, and stand up for Jesus
