How to become a Christian

Q: Can I convert from Sikh to Christian?

A: Anybody can become a Christian if they simply repent and receive Christ as LORD and Saviour. When you are born again, you will not follow any religion, you will follow the Living Christ. Understand the difference between religion and salvation.

Women in the Bible

Q: Are there any examples of women who caused mayhem in the Bible? Toyin

Powerful Women

Power for women
Aimee Semple McPherson

Controversial, charismatic, dramatic. Smith Wigglesworth ministered in her fellowship with miracle results

A: The Bible has accounts of many women who caused mayhem to Satan. Look up, and be inspired by, the exploits of gutsy women like Deborah, Jael, Rahab, Ruth, and others in the Old Testament.

There are plenty more in the New Testament too.

But realise that what a New Covenant woman believer has, is far greater, than what they had before Pentecost.

Today you are offered the Acts 2 power baptism, along with male believers. That power equips you to do the Greater Works Christ spoke of.

Meaning of the Lord's Supper

Q: What is the Protestant perspective on Communion?

A: See John Knox's summary of the purpose and meaning of the Lord's Supper.

And don't forget that perfect bodily healing is included in the Atonement, and is symbolised in Communion. Many Christians miss that to their own harm. 1 Co. 11:30.

Imaginary friends

Q: My two year-old daughter developed an imaginary friend just before my younger daughter, aged two months, was born. What should I be concerned about, if anything? Is that a healthy response to the change in her life or could it be demonic? Katie

A: Child psychologists would love to answer that one, but you need truth, not Freudian nonsense. Sigmund Freud cursed a whole generation of children with his demonically inspired ideas.

First, use your authority in Christ to protect and cover your children by your faith in Him. That child is yours, and you must exercise your authority over evil spirits seeking to influence her. (Lk. 10:19, Eph. 6:10-18, Jas. 4:7, 1 Pe. 5:8-9)

They are your children under God

Next, explain to your child what imagination is, and be careful not to deceive them with stories about tooth-fairies and Santa Claus.

Warn them about the reality of evil, and how it influences them by thoughts, attitudes, and other stimuli.

Gradually teach them about the reality of God, and His Holy Spirit's influence in your life. Finally, encourage them to use their imaginations as they were intended to be, godly and creative.

Am I being selfish?

Q: Romans 15 brought this question to mind: When is self-concern appropriate, and when does it turn into selfishness? Steve

A: The biblical principle is to consider others before yourself, just like Jesus did. Phil. 2:3-9. It's an absolutely devastating weapon in a Christian's armoury, smashing through the 'impregnable' defences sinner's erect. Mtt. 16:24-25. We are to tread that path, and when you go too far, becoming careless for ourselves, the Lord will make up the difference.

She never said a word, she didn't need to, the Lord simply used her...
