Pass the salt

Q: I backslid and 'lost my salt', how do I get it back again? Eric

A: You didn't lose your salt Eric. Read Mtt. 5:13 and Mk. 9:50, and you'll see what Christ was speaking of. None of the people He addressed were born again, yet He called them 'salt'. Because unsaved man is the salt of the earth, but, salt that has lost its saltiness, fit only to be thrown out. They have no righteousness or sonship with God. The only way to get saltiness is by being born again. (Ro. 3:21-24, 1 Jn. 3:1).

When a born again believer backslides into sin, tragic though it is, they don't become children of the Devil do they? They break fellowship with Father, but retain their relationship with Him, they are still sons and daughters. Children disgracing Him, instead of glorifying Him. The answer is to simply repent, confess your sin to Him, and obey Him, then your saltiness will show, and please your Saviour. Ready to Get right with God?

Muscle Testing

Q: Is 'Muscle Testing', New Age?

A: Yes it's yet another silly New Age fad designed to rip-off the gullible. It was dreamed up in the 60's by an American chiropractor, based upon his involvement with the occult, and Chinese Taoism. He called it 'Applied Kinesiology'. It is utterly ineffective, has no rational, or scientific basis, merely re-packaged New Age nonsense. All such occult idolatry is forbidden by God.

Tip: When you hear the New Ager's favourite buzz-word, 'holistic', remember Satan wants you to tumble into the same hole.

Jehovah's Witnesses

Q: "Are Jehovah's Witnesses Christian; what do they believe?" Daniel.

A: No, 'Jay Dubs' are another cult that slithered out of America in the nineteenth century. They deny several basics of the Christian faith, such as the Trinity, the Deity of Christ (they call Him 'a god', and deny He is Almighty God in the Flesh), they also deny the deity of the Holy Spirit, the existence of Hell, and eternal punishment. They believe in the unscriptural doctrine of 'soul sleep', and their 'salvation' is by works, not grace alone. See: How to deal with the cults.

The Twelve

Q: In Paul's letter to the Corinthians (1 Co. 15:5) he states that Jesus appeared to Peter, and then the Twelve. How can this be, if Judas Iscariot had died, and they had not yet chosen his replacement? Ed

A: That's one the cult's enjoy confusing sinners with. There's no contradiction here Ed. You are also misquoting the verse. Here's how Tyndale (and the KJV) translate it:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

Note, it does not say that twelve disciples were present, but that Peter was one of the original Twelve.

Also keep in mind that, not only was Judas dead, but Thomas was absent from the Jn. 20:24 resurrection appearance.

In 1 Co. 15:5, "The Twelve" is not being used to specify the actual number of disciples present, rather it's being used in the collective descriptive sense. The disciples were already widely known as "The Twelve", and they were still called by that name even after Judas died. You do this often, for example, when you talk of "The Government".

Christ was raised up in His physical Body

But don't let cult-riddles distract you from the vital point of this passage; where God, the Holy Spirit, confirms that The LORD Jesus Christ was resurrected in His physical body, and seen by many witnesses.
