Q: I am 18, and I haven't been baptized yet, should I be ashamed?
A: Only if you are a Christian. Don't get baptised in water if you are an unsaved churchgoer, or to please your peers.
A real Christian wants to honour Christ, and obey Him in all things. Believer's water baptism is a joy, not a rite, or hoop to jump through. If you don't want to get baptised the Bible way, you are probably still in your sins, and that is very serious indeed.
Q: Does Jesus' healing include... (insert your ailment, sickness, or infirmity here)?
A: Assuredly! Christ bore all your diseases, infirmities and ailments so you can be totally healed. Mtt. 8:17, Is. 53:4-6, Ps. 103, 1 Pe 2:24. Your miracle begins now.
Q: Should I vote, since no politician can be trusted to keep their promises? Mike
A: You must decide for yourself what Christ wants you to do Mike. I would not like to have the blood of 655 thousand Iraqis on my hands; which would have been the case had I ever been foolish enough to have voted for Bush or Blair. If you voted for them, you need to repent, and ask God's forgiveness for colluding in their continuing war-crimes.
Personally, I've not voted since being saved, because it is obvious all candidates are unsaved, or counterfeit 'Christians'. I don't know of a single genuine Christian politician, do you? In any case, democracy itself is a dead-duck in a stagnant pool. Doomed since its invention by Greek pagans. Only One Leader gets my vote: The LORD Jesus Christ.
Q: What about Timothy's stomach? Jim
A: Those who reject the healing part of the Gospel often point to 1 Tim. 5:23 as 'evidence', and ask why Paul told Timothy to take wine for his stomach. (I've even heard drunks using this verse to justify their sin.)
The passage is easy to understand when you are in Asia, on the same mission field as Timothy. Where I evangelise, unless you are careful about the water you drink you will spend a lot of time in the small room. Today, he'd write, Drink boiled or bottled water to avoid Delhi-Belly.
Paul was simply reminding Timothy, the young missionary, to add some wine to his water to purify it, and make it safe to drink. God always heals those who call on Him in faith, but He expects us to exercise common-sense about basic hygiene.
Q: Is it right for a Christian to sell, or buy, coupons for religious fund-raising events in their work-place? James
A: Good one James. I've shortened your question, but I know you're concerned that you may in return be asked to buy similar fund-raisers for Buddhist temples and religious 'good-causes'.
I often face this situation, so we long ago decided not to get involved in such fund-raising, not for ourselves, nor sponsorship of others. A gentle smile and polite, 'No thank you', is sufficient for all except the most pushy.
Word soon gets round, Christians don't sponsor religions. Some will not understand, and call you names, but that's okay, par for the course. Do all your giving in secret, and the Lord will reward you personally. Mtt. 6:1-4 holds wonderful blessing for those who obey it.
