Q: I have nightmares where I feel something, or someone, is trying to touch me. It frightens me, and I don't know how to stop it, or what causes it. I am born again, baptised in water, and in the Holy Spirit. Marilyn
A: It's only demons, night terrors ('terror of the night' Ps. 91:5), trying to disturb you Marilyn. Christ has given you full authority over them (Lk. 10:19), just exercise it in His Name, and they always have to flee from you. They are easy to deal with.
Q: I am a born again Christian, and love the Lord, so why do bad thoughts pop in my head sometimes; Is there something wrong with me? Kate
A: No Kate, remember that your defeated enemy tries to seduce you from the Truth through the sense realm. What you see, hear, feel and think, for example.
As a Christian, God has given you power to take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ. 2 Co. 10:5. That power is the Holy Spirit anointed Word of God in you. Renew your mind in accordance with God's Word. Ro. 12:2.
Follow these two witnesses, you will grow, and soon be able to discern when thoughts come from God, the Holy Spirit, or when they come from Satan and demons. Then you will know which to rebuke, and which to submit to, and how to know God's will.
Isn't it wonderful to be under God's grace, and know His mercy and peace abounds to His children? Phil. 1:2.
Q: What does the Bible say when you make a promise to other people and you don't keep it? Ida
A: Pr. 6:1-5 gives clear instruction what you should do Ida, and Ecc. 5:2-6. and Pr. 20:25 also throw light on this subject. Clearly it is a matter of integrity, and therefore of utmost importance. Humble yourself, and ask forgiveness from those you have failed. They may not forgive you, but God will. 1 Jn. 1:9.
Q: What are the differences between the Names Son of Man and Son of God that Jesus used to describe Himself? Steve
A: Magnificent question Steve, and one I asked Father the first week I was saved. It struck me as odd that the Son of God seemed to prefer referring to Himself as the Son of Man, and I wondered why. He's been showing me ever since. The answer becomes more thrilling by the day, as He unfolds it to you.
Ask Him yourself, and begin with the thought that, although He knew He was God in the Flesh (The Son of God), His mission was to live on earth as a man under Law, the Old Covenant, in order that He could become our Substitute and redeem us.
Gradually it dawns on you that, everything He did was as a Man depending upon God His Father, just like we are supposed to. He took no shortcuts. Now, start there, and you will worship Him all the more. And remember, He has sealed the New Covenant of grace, with His Blood.
Q: Is Halloween in the Bible?
A: Certainly, it comes under the category of occult practices, demon worship, and witchcraft, expressly forbidden throughout the Old and New Covenants. Read Leviticus, Galatians, etc. Origin of Halloween.
