Waiting for the Groom

Q: Who is the Bride of Christ? Jane

A: Believers in Christ, the Church, the Body of believers; also portrayed in Glory as the Heavenly Jerusalem, and New Jerusalem. See Eph. 5:22-32, Rev. 19:7-9, 21:2, 21:9, Mtt. 25:1-10.

Some people suffer unnecessary confusion when comparing this typology and union with human relationships.

For example, the Church is also depicted as the Sister of Christ in SOS 4:9. That means Christ marries His sister, which in human terms, would make Father also Father in Law! In addition, believers in Christ are called both His brothers, and His children. Disconcerting eh? But if you think really hard about it, it has to be that way.

Okay Jane, better have a cold shower before you read all of SOS. Ready for passionate Love without a trace of romance...:

You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride... with one glance of your eyes...

Bible view of Wicca

Q: I recently discovered that some people in my school are part of something called Wicca, is this demonic, or witchcraft? Steven

A: Yes, it is both, and thoroughly evil: See the Christian view of Wicca.

Are you in The Book?

Q: When is your name written in the Lamb's Book of Life? Barney

A: Here's the answer.

Biblical fasting

Q: What is the Biblical basis and benefit of fasting?

A: Fasting is definitely biblical. I find that, wherever the Lord is moving, people seek Him all the more in fasting and prayer. It shows wholeheartedness, when only the Bread of Heaven will satisfy our hunger.

Isn't it interesting that during a revival, where miracles abound, you don't even think of eating food? However, a word of warning: I've also seen fasting used in a religious legalistic way; to get approval, a reward of answered prayer, even subconscious 'penance' or punishment, and this is seriously wrong.

Some people, even Spirit-filled believers, have gone half-bonkers pursuing such error. So only fast as you are truly led by the Lord, then it will be a joy, and a blessing.

Ask believing

Q: In Phil. 4:6, what does be careful for nothing mean?

A: It's old English for don't be anxious (full of care) about anything. In other words, don't fret or worry. Instead ask God in faith and trust in Him.

And you will find

Q: How can I seek God?

A: Here's How to Find God's Will.

No trespassing

Q: What is the difference between trespass and transgressions?

A: Trespass is a general term for sin and wrongdoing, transgression is breaking a specific Law of God.

One day you will die

Q: I'm afraid of dying, how do I overcome my fear of death?

A: You will lose all fear of death when you are saved. Study these four articles on How to Overcome Death.
