What Greater Things?

Q: In Jn. 14:12 what are the greater things Jesus said believers would do?

A: Isn't it a wonderfully challenging promise? He said that anyone who has faith in Him will do greater things than the miracles He did! Believe and meditate on that. (The KJV Translators copied Tyndale's addition of the word 'works' here. The original Greek says, 'he will do greater than these...')

Christ operated under the limitations of the Old Covenant, He sealed the New Covenant in His Blood, and poured out the Baptism in the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Ac. 2.

This gives New Covenant believers (but not doubters, Jas. 1:6-8) tremendous advantages, and literally unlimited resources.

In Christ's Name they proclaim, not only the Born Again, eternal life, Gospel experience that was not available during His ministry on earth. In addition, they can get people filled with the Holy Ghost, and anyone who has faith can do miracles like Christ. Only believe

Watching Horror Movies

A: Great question Brandi! The fact you are asking gives a clue to the answer. It's probably the Lord gently nudging you, on the inside, to avoid them.

Remember Ro. 6:14, we are under grace not Law, let us rejoice in a believer's freedom, but not abuse God's grace. Take the principle of 1 Co. 10:23 as your rule of thumb in dubious areas like this.

All things are permissible, but not all are beneficial.

Before you watch anything, let alone horror movies, ask yourself; Does this edify me, comfort me, and build me up in Christ; does it set a good example for others to follow? Test yourself, Has the Lord told me to watch this stuff? Consider, Phil. 4:8, and you will have your answer.

One or Seven baptisms?

Q: On Baptism: The Bible says that there is one Baptism in Eph. 4:5, so why do you say there are seven in the Bible?

A: Because there are. The one baptism in Eph. 4:5 is referring to the one born again baptism into Christ: not water baptism. The baptism that is done by God, the Holy Spirit, of a repentant sinner into the Body of Christ, not its symbolic representation done afterwards, in water by men.

Heb. 6:2 points out as an elementary teaching that there are baptismS, plural. And I have found 7 Baptisms in the Bible.

Trick or Treat

A: No, it's an entirely satanic invention. Christians have nothing to do with it. Here's the Christian view of Halloween.

How many wives?

Q: Jacob, King David, and many others in the Bible had several wives, so is polygamy sometimes acceptable?

A: No, never, even the slippery Mormon cult has been forced to renounce polygamy: Polygamy is Sin.

Truth sets them free

Q: Why do you say Catholics are not Christians?

A: Because God does. 2 Co. 6:17-18, Rev. 17. The Roman Catholic Catechism flatly contradicts God's Word, the Holy Bible, on many essential foundations. So somebody is wrong... and it's not God.

Catholics are not Christian. Catholics are idolaters, and all idolaters perish in the Lake of Fire. Rev. 21:8, 22:15. Wake them up before it's too late.

A: Relatives, rather than direct siblings. Remember life-spans in those days were measured in centuries. Adam lived 930 years (Gen. 5:5), and had many other children, who in turn reproduced. As sin increased life spans shortened.
