The Five-fold ministry

Q: What is the 'five fold ministry', does it have anything to do with the Spiritual Gifts? Cynthia

A: It's from Eph. 4:11. Here the Holy Spirit lists five ministry Gifts; Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher. These functions would be the person's ministry, their office as ordained by God (not man!)

You've also read of the nine Spiritual Gifts in 1 Co. 12 that are distributed in the Body as the Holy Spirit determines. 1 Co. 12:11.

Some people who love titles, and position, like to split hairs about the distinctions between these Spiritual Gifts and ministerial offices. However, I think God's heart is with those who are busy for Christ, just getting on with His work, and not caring what they are called.

There's also an extreme false-teaching prevalent in many dead denominational fellowships that says these ministries ended with the first Apostles when the Bible canon was completed.

Schizophrenia

A: Just as physical disease has its origin in Satan (Ac. 10:38), so does mental illness. Most schizophrenia, and related identity disorders, are the work of demons. They are more than 'psychological illnesses'. Manifesting multiple personalities is a clear example of how oppressing evil spirits can harm individuals and their relationships. Strength for your weakness

Q: Can Satan influence people to abuse you when you have moved closer to God?

A: When you are saved and Spirit-filled the enemy certainly targets you more, and causes his children to attack you. Use it as a wonderful opportunity to show the power you have over your defeated enemy, and glorify Christ. How did Jesus, and the first believers do this in the Bible?

A: Understand that Jesus Christ is Almighty God in the Flesh, that God died for you, and then read Is. 53:4-6, Ro. 4:25, Ac. 10:43, 2 Co. 5:21, 1 Pe. 2:24, Rev. 1:5.

Is the Son less than God?

A: Because that is what God's Word says from start to finish in the Holy Bible. That is what He said when He came In Person, and what He said when He ascended to Heaven. It is called the doctrine of the Trinity: One God in three, distinct persons. God The Father, God The Son, and God The Holy Spirit. Study the references given in the articles linked to above, and ask the LORD to reveal Himself to you. You'll only find Him, in Christ.

Wycliffe and the Lollards

Q: Who were the Lollards and John Wycliffe?

A: John Wycliffe was the 14th century founder of the subsequent English Reformation. He was responsible for pulling the Bible into English. His scriptural doctrines challenged the blatant falsehoods of Roman Catholicism. Followers of his doctrines were called Lollards, and suffered terrible persecution for Christ.
