Q: Is body-piercing okay; are we allowed to pierce our nose or anything else on our bodies?
A: Blimey Luv! As well as a missionary, I'm a farm vet, and I put rings through pig's snouts to stop them rooting out what they shouldn't. We also insert rings in bull's noses to lead them where they don't want to go.
The desire to pierce your body does not come from God, but from demons taking advantage of your poor self-image. Yield to them, and they will lead you away from Christ, and stop you seeking His will.
Ask Jesus to show you how to be Beautiful in His eyes, and that demonic desire will vanish in an instant.
Q: Why did Jesus cast the demons into the swine?
A: If you will excuse the mixed-metaphor: Killing two birds with one stone. He drove the demons out of the possessed man, and got rid of the pigs too.
You see, eating and farming unclean animals was forbidden for Jews. My guess is some Jewish farmers were profiting by feeding the Roman invaders pig meat. But Christ was also showing something else: See, How to Drive out Demons.
Q: God is all-knowing, so he knows our path, so why would God make man only to be condemned?
A: Good question Jose, but you're forgetting what God has done since The Fall. If He made man only to condemn him, that would indeed be cruel. But He made mankind to walk with Him in harmony. When we blew it (in Adam) by our ancestor's own choice, God came Himself, and provided perfect redemption for those willing to repent and believe in Christ. He did this because He is Love, and to Glorify His Name forever. Rev. 4:11, 7:9-17.
Q: Was the miracle at Fatima in Portugal real? Edward
A: Whatever happened, whether real, imagined, or counterfeit, it was nothing to do with God. Satan is the author of such demonic deceptions, not Christ, who warned repeatedly of supernatural attempts to deceive the elect. See. Mtt. 24:24-25 for example. Understand why Catholics are Not Christian.
Q: How should Christian women dress?
A: Be careful to keep in mind believers are under grace not Law, and to give new believers learning room, but I like what God likes:
I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes. 1 Tim. 2:9
I recommend all believers read Rev. Hagin's The Woman Question for a sound grasp of Biblical equality regarding gender. He does the headcovering and clothing verses too.
Q: What is the meaning of the term 'Christian'?
A: It means followers of Christ, believers, the saints. It is found in Ac. 11:26; 26:28; 1 Pe. 4:16, and was first used by sinners to malign the saints, in a mocking sense. In their eyes, Christ was cursed by being crucified, and so His followers would also come to a sticky end. With delicious irony, the name stuck. Christ was indeed cursed: But for us. Gal. 3:13-14.
Q: Is just being unhappy in a marriage, grounds for divorce? Marcus
A: No, see Mtt. 19:3-12. God hates divorce. Mal. 2:16. Sin makes people unhappy: Repentance and faith in Christ bring peace, and joy.
Q: Are fallen angels the same as demons? David
A: Yes, and symbolised by snakes and scorpions. See Lk. 10:18-19. We conclude a four part article on Driving out Demons in our Salvation Newsletter.
Q: How many people in the world believe in Christ today?
A: Not enough, and far fewer than claim to do so. Official figures are hopelessly inaccurate because they include the cults, nominal Christians, and mental assenters. Not everyone who claims to be a believer, is a believer. Mtt. 15:8-9, 7:15-23. Only God knows the number. But from personal experience I'd say it is significantly higher in countries like China than in post-Christian America, UK, and Europe. A bit of persecution soon weeds-out the phonies.
