Single Christian households

Q: My family aren't saved, and they don't seem responsive to anything I say, sometimes they listen, but treat it as nothing, like I'm a little kid trying to figure the world out. (I'm 21) I also find myself wanting to spend more time with Christians than with my family, and I feel that it is wrong.

I just don't know what to do. I want to be a good representative of Christ to the people I love, but it seems that everything I say and do is overlooked, unless we get into a debate, then I always seem like the bad guy. Just having a rough time trying to figure out what to do. Any advice? Corey

A: This is absolutely normal for first-generation Christians. Remember Christ did not come to bring peace, but division. What did He say would happen in families Corey? Mtt. 10:34-38.

In fact you're having an easy time with your relatives. They haven't thrown you out, cut you off, or killed you, as happens in many nations. Read Gulshan Esther's testimony of what it is like for first generation Christians in Pakistan.

So take it in your stride, accept is as a sign you've got the real Thing, and use it as a kind of discipline. Heb. 12:1-13. By that I mean, learn to walk in love towards them, don't show resentment at their lack of understanding.

It is important to tell them the Good News, but also to display what Jesus is like in the flesh, your flesh.

Stand firm, don't compromise, eyes are on you, what you say and do counts. Eternal destinies are at stake.

There's nothing wrong with spending more of your time with Christians. Fellowshipping with them will encourage you to grow in the Lord.

I wouldn't fret unduly over your own family, there's plenty of sinners out there who are interested in finding real peace and joy, so get after those. A prophet isn't respected in his or her own land, often it takes someone outside the family, saying the same things you are saying, before they will listen.

Teenage Homosexuals

Q: In our town, next month is, "Teen Lesbian, Gay, and Trans" month. I need help with information, I am getting scripture together.

How sad it is, that people follow the multitude to do evil in the sight of God. God never changes. What God said was wrong is still wrong. What God said was right is still right.

A: Amen Sister, fan those embers. Be filled with the Holy Ghost, get a box and go and preach it outside the library, and in the market place.

The Lord will give you the Word. The Helper will supply the information. The verses will come as you open your mouth to glorify Him.

Do you think Jesus, Paul, Peter, and Stephen used prepared notes?

Give them hot bread straight from the oven.

And don't forget the main ingredient is Love, without yeast.

When young perverts, lesbians, and sodomites sense Christ's love in you, they will be convicted by what you say, and do, in Jesus' Name. Only Christ can set them free of their demonic bondage, and He only works through sincere love.

Food Laws

Q: What is different in the NT that we can now eat food that was prohibited in the OT?

A: That's easy. The Covenant changed. The Old Covenant is obsolete, and replaced by the New Covenant. Heb. 10:9-10, 8:6-13. God nailed it to the cross in Christ. Col. 2:13-15. Aren't you glad about that?

Nobody ever fulfilled the Old Covenant, except One Bloke. What is His Name? Nobody was ever justified by the Law, nor ever will be. Gal. 2:15-16. Isn't it heartbreaking to see the Jews still trying to get to Heaven by observing the Law? But their hardness of heart, and spiritual blindness, has been our blessing. Ro. 11:7-24.

Also remember the Old Covenant foreshadowed what was coming in Christ. The reality is here now. Heb. 10:1. The food laws were done away with, as the Holy Spirit Himself confirms in Mk. 7:19, Ac. 10:13-15, Col. 2:16-17. There's more on food, in particular the remarks about food laws in Acts 15, here.

All food is now "clean", only the cults and religions still prattle over it, let's get on with the work the Lord has given us to do.

All Born Sinners

Q: I know the Bible says we are born into sin, but what happens to babies who die before they can repent and receive Jesus? Rick

A: See, Babies that die, and the Age of accountability.
