Q: Can you give me a clear-cut answer whether or not you think nose piercing is bad?
Just a simple nose-piercing, I think would look very pretty.
I am well versed in scripture, love the Lord, have been saved six years, and I'm a Worship Leader, completely, utterly hungry for God. I have prayed about this and have yet to feel a yes or no. Everything people have mentioned to me has to do with big gaudy tattoos and piercing, not at all what I'm asking about. Just a tiny nose diamond. Anna
A: You certainly asked the right chap. Yes Anna, I can give you a clear opinion.
Don't have any piercing at all; nose, ear, tongue, or anywhere else.
I'm a farm vet, and I put studs, clips, and rings in pig's snouts to stop them from rooting up fences and crops. I insert big copper rings in bull's muzzles so they can be controlled by the nose. We sometimes fit spiked aluminium plates in the noses of troublesome growing cattle to stop them suckling milk from cows after weaning.
Get the picture?
Do you want to join the ranks of dumb beasts, led by the nose where you don't want to go?
I personally find human nose-rings, studs, and tattoos, repulsive, even hideous, and certainly not "pretty". The primary declaration they make about the wearer is, "This person has low self-esteem, and a poor self image."
But who cares what I say, it's God's opinion we want.
There are plenty of Bible verses showing cutting and piercing yourself is wrong, and a sure sign of folly and sin. Also find out the truth about ear-piercing in the Bible.
Blood-letting and body piercing has always been a feature of pagan worship. Remember, it begins with just a toothpick, or thread of cotton, through a freshly pierced bleeding ear lobe. Token blood offerings resonate throughout demon devotion.
A visit to a Hindu Thaipussam festival will show what it can lead to; and open your eyes as to who is behind the desire you have.
This is the key.
What is motivating you to puncture your body?
Has God told you to knock a hole in His temple? 1 Co. 3:16-17, 6:19.
Did He "forget" to make an extra orifice in your nose or ear?
Does He think it will make you prettier, and improve His handiwork?
Wake up Sister! It only takes a nanosecond of prayerful consideration to discover God's view of such vanity.
Are you vacillating because you're hoping He will say yes, because you really want to do it, in order to overcome a sense of inferiority?
You would be wise to consider what example you set leading worship.
I'm also a missionary in Asia, I point people to Christ whose Animist culture is replete with piercing, and other demonic paraphernalia. As soon as they are saved, we encourage them to voluntarily destroy all such evil trappings. The resulting bonfires send a powerful message to the rest of the village. Just as it did in Bible times. Ac. 19:17-20.
If we arrived with a group of ex-Animist Hill-tribe Christians, and they saw you leading worship with a stud through your snout, you would have zero credibility in their eyes. Can you understand why?
Demonic regalia are now fashion items in the doomed pagan West!
Anna, the answer is a definite scriptural, "No!"
Q: Are we to be baptized in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, or in Jesus' Name? Where in the Bible was anyone baptized in the three Names? Linda
A: Sounds like another question the cults ask. Mtt. 28:19 KJV is perfectly clear, and what all true believers have practiced since those words fell from God's lips. The wise don't argue with God, they obey Him. Christian baptism basics.
Q: How can I break my Crack addiction?
A: You can't, but the LORD Jesus Christ can. He loves to set prisoners free. Heroin, opium, methamphetamine, "crystal", and crack cocaine addicts are released instantly by His Spirit when the Anointing falls. No "cold turkey", no withdrawal symptoms, the anointing breaks every yoke.
That's the easy part, staying free requires your total commitment to Christ, and the support of Christians who know what they are doing. There will be some near where you live, ask the Lord to lead you to them. Meanwhile, here's encouragement: How to break addictions.
