Burma's Cyclone, China's Quake

Q: What can Christians do to help the victims of Burma's cyclone and China's earthquake?

A: Understand that this is Satan's work, not God's judgment. Christ warned us such events will become more frequent as the End approaches. Mtt. Ch. 24, Lk. Ch. 21.

There are the obvious practical needs, and the world is trying to provide those. There are also many Christian organizations, and individuals, able to get resources to the needy.

In the longer term it's important that we should be praying against the wicked forces holding these poor souls in bondage to their idols. Only the Gospel power of God can set them free, not bombs, bullets, politicians, diplomats, or sanctions.

Most Burmese are Buddhist idolaters. In the centre of Rangoon is their most sacred idol housed in a Temple.

It is no coincidence that it bears a pagan name mentioned in the Bible; Judges 16:3, 1 Sam. Ch. 5, 1 Ch. 10:10.

The Philistines worshipped a demon by the name of Dagon, and presented the armour, and head, of wicked King Saul as an offering in their temple devoted to Dagon.

Today, Burma's oppressed pagan millions are chanting to demons, and putting their faith in a dumb idol housed at the Temple of Dagon in Rangoon.

Mighty Samson, by the power of God, pulled down the Philistine's Temple of Dagon. Ju. Ch.16.

Today, God is looking for Christian's to rise up in His Power to destroy Satan's strongholds in the heavenly realm. Eph. 6:12, 2 Co. 10:4.

All it takes is the Gospel proclaimed in the Spirit of God. The Truth will set them free.

Who will go?

Pray about what you are doing with the brief time you have left on Earth.

Where are God's labourers? Tending the vineyard, and rescuing lost sheep, or at home by the fireside? Ju. 5:16 NIV

Some of you reading this should already be in China, Burma, and elsewhere, proclaiming Christ, and using the talents you have to lift sinners out of the mire.

Are you still waiting for God's call, whilst playing church, and arguing doctrine on those appalling "Christian" forums?

He already told you to go into all the world. Mk. 16:15.

That's enough call for any Christian.

One dear Christian woman visited this site, was convicted, resigned a lucrative job in the City of London, and is now a missionary in Central America. Do you think she's happy and fulfilled? Will Almighty God look after a child like that, and give whatever she asks to get the job done?

It amazes me how God uses believers when we simply turn up where He sends us. You don't have to be a brilliant linguist, or a gifted preacher; you just have to go in love, looking only to glorify Jesus. He'll sort the details out.

Please don't wait for the next disaster to weep, and wring your hands over; get going now before Satan takes out another 200,000 sinners. Give them what you have from Jesus, and get them safe and saved, out of the Devil's reach. Ac. 3:6. Nothing else will satisfy you. Just do what you were made and saved for.

You there... He said Go! What are you waiting for? Mtt. 28:19-20.

Over a hundred years ago, an Englishman had a vision that shaped his life, and the lives of countless others. It is a snapshot of what happened in Burma, in China, and elsewhere. I dare you to read about William Booth's Vision of the Lost.

Wine mocks, Beer brawls

Can Christians drink beer?

A: Yes, but they are far wiser, and more useful to the Lord, if they don't drink alcohol. It is a snare in many ways, but avoiding it carries no dangers. Bin the bottle, you really don't need it.

And he healed all their diseases

Q: Can Jesus heal all diseases?

A: Yes, every sickness, disease, and infirmity, by simple living faith in Him and the redemption He purchased for us. You'll find lots of Bible references in this series of articles on Biblical health and healing.

No pupil above his teacher

Q: Can you recommend a good Christian commentary?

A: No, I advise you to avoid all commentaries, and get your spiritual milk and food from the Lord. Father wants His kids to walk by revelation, not rote.

Commentaries, even the best, soon become a cringing embarrassment because of the limited understanding of their authors. The danger is that you base your faith on what a man says, instead of directly upon the Word and Spirit of God. There's a huge difference.

The West has rejected Christ, so the Final Harvest will be reaped mainly by Asian missionaries throughout the world.
