Should I get a Tattoo?

Q: I was thinking about getting a tattoo, but I am confused. I was born and raised Pentecostal, and come from strict Indian (India) culture. So my question is, can I get a Christian "tat"? Wes

A: No! The desire to mutilate your body comes from demons, not the Holy Spirit.

If you are a Christian, your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. 1 Co. 6:19-20. Tattooing anything, even Bible verses, onto God's temple is defacing and desecrating it. That is why tattooing is so popular in demon worshipping religions and cultures. It is a common practice in Buddhism, Shamanism, Hinduism, and Animism.

I have met some Christians who try to defend the practise by twisting Bible verses in support, but they are deceiving themselves. It is sin, it is wrong, and needs to be repented of.

Soon after I was saved, I met a new believer who'd been into Head-banging and the occult. He practically worshipped a Heavy Metal band called "Anthrax", and had several tattoos. I'll never forget his passion and sincerity when he told me how the Holy Spirit had convicted him of the sin of tattooing himself before he was saved. No-one but God told him he'd sinned; he bitterly regretted his stupidity, and thereafter spoke vehemently against tattoos.

Tattoos and Body-piercing are not allowed under either the Old or the New Covenant.

I am concerned by your claim to have been "born and raised Pentecostal".

This statement shows a profound misunderstanding of how to become a Christian.

Nobody has ever been born Pentecostal, and never will be.

You, like each of us, were born a sinner. Only after you have personally repented and received Christ are you born again, a Christian. The Pentecostal experience is subsequent to the New Birth, they are two events.

This may explain why you are considering getting a tattoo. I suspect you are confused about many aspects of Christian life.

My advice to you is to get saved the Bible way, become Spirit-filled, and then you will know the difference between sin and righteousness.

Young ex-Hindu

Q: I was raised an Indian Hindu, but now I believe in Jesus Christ alone. I have accepted Him as my personal Saviour, but my parents don't know about this. I also have attended prayers three times a week for four months. However, I haven't felt anything in me, and I'm not filled with the Holy Spirit. Why, and what should I do? Rekha

A: I think it's best to start again from the beginning, and make sure you understand how to become a Christian.

Lead Hindus to Christ

Death of a Guru

Get Rabi's book and give it to your Indian and Hindu acquaintances. Sow the seed, ask Christ to use it, believe He will, wait, then harvest the fruit

Nobody can stop you from becoming a Christian. If you are sincere in your faith, Christ will come into you when you repent and believe in Him. He will deal with those who try to separate you and Him. You simply need wholehearted commitment to Him no matter what the personal cost.

It is unusual for Hindu parents to disown their offspring if they turn to Christ, they usually respect the child's liberty to choose for themselves.

Spend some time reading how to become a Christian, and also read the Gospel of John, in the Holy Bible, asking Christ to show you what to do.

When you are ready, find a Bible believing fellowship, ask to speak to the Pastor about your situation, and you will be helped.

Should I be re-baptised?

Q: I was born and raised Catholic, and was baptised as such. Recently, I completely rejected the Catholic system, and put my faith in Jesus as my Saviour. I'm not sure if I should be re-baptised or not. Matthew

A: Well done! Catholicism is a vile satanic counterfeit of Christianity.

Yes, you definitely must be baptised in water as a witness of your new birth.

Water baptism is only for believers. Catholics are idolators not believers, and Catholic "baptism" is not biblical baptism, it is a useless man-made ritual. Here's how to be baptised the Bible way.
