Q: Should we as Christians be putting away food, water, and provisions for the times that are ahead, or trust in the Lord to meet our needs? Dennis
A: A timely question Dennis. I used to host a Christian biker forum in which one member had a fetish-like "flee to the mountains" survivalist concept. He built a motorbike equipped with everything he'd need to survive. I thought he was a bit off.
Conversely, 18 years ago, I heard an anointed Kiwi preacher warning of the forthcoming cash-crisis, and economic meltdown. The antiChrist spirit will use it as an opportunity to introduce the Mark of the Beast, without which you cannot buy or sell. Rev. 13:16-17. I'm sure the preacher was correct, it is just around the corner.

All new UK passports already have the 666 biometric chip in them, the next step is to insert the chip into your wrist or forehead.
Those who allow themselves to be chipped will be eternally damned. (Rev. 13:16-17)
Should we store essentials in anticipation of shortages, recession, and famine? It may well be appropriate, as when Joseph was prime minister of Egypt. (Gen. 41:41-57) But note that he acted in response to a specific revelation and instruction from the Lord.
I would only do the same if the Lord told me to. Otherwise I'd get distracted from our sole purpose for being here on Earth, which is to get this Good News to every creature before He comes.
I'm utterly convinced that anyone who puts evangelism first in their life, doesn't have to worry about where their supplies come from. The Lord is still able to feed and water a million in the desert as easy as blinking. He's still capable of turning a single tuna sandwich into a banquet for 5,000, and have plenty left over. He still commands His angels concerning us to protect, and supply whatever we need, as we obey Him wholeheartedly. Mtt. 6:25-34 is our portion. No worries!
Q: Why don't Christians cover their heads and grow beards like Jewish and Muslim people do?
A: Because Christians believe in God, not religion. You are confusing religion with salvation. Christianity is not a religion, it is Life from God, and fellowship with Him. Religion is "do's, don'ts" and silly (mostly man-made) rituals.
Islam has nothing in common with Christianity. The "Allah" of the Quran is not the same as Almighty God of the Holy Bible. Muslims worship a demon calling itself "Allah", Christians worship The LORD Jesus Christ: Almighty God in the Flesh.
Judaism is loosely based on the Old Testament with lots of rules added by men. (Talmud) The Old Covenant (Torah) was made obsolete when the New Covenant was sealed in the Blood of Christ, The Lamb of God. (Ro. 10:4, Gal. 3:24-25, Col. 2:14, Heb. 8:13) Christians are not under the Old, but the New Covenant.
This is the best biblical exposition I've read on dress code, and headcovering.
Beard growing is optional. Headcovering is a cultural matter in the New Testament, not the religious observance it is for Jews. In many Asian cultures it would be shocking for a woman to uncover her head in public, so women trying to win them to Christ, are wise to also cover their head. Male Christians may also follow local cultural dress code... to win the lost, become like them. (1 Co. 9:19-22)
