Remarriage after Divorce

Q: I am a born again Christian, attending an Independent Baptist church. My marriage was failing, and my husband refused to get any marriage counselling. Instead he had an affair with another woman, left me and the kids, and is filing for a divorce. Can I date or marry a man who is a Christian? Laura

A: Hold on Sister, you're going in the wrong direction. Turn around and walk in love, look to the Lord, and ask Him what you should do. God hates divorce, (Mal. 2:16) and even if you quit on your husband, Jesus won't.

Christ is relying on you to show your foolish husband how a real Christian behaves, and to stand firm against the evil seducing spirits trying to destroy your family.

Marriage and divorce

You are feeling hurt, crushed, and rejected, that's fertile ground on which to grow in Christ. He knows all about it, and will pour His love and power into you if you let Him.

He is a Redeemer, and wants you to be one too.

Resolve now, never to give in to the Devil. Take up your weapon and use it today.

God wants you to discover the infinite power in His Word, when we only believe.

Should she divorce him?

Q: My elder born again sister is about to divorce her unbelieving husband because he batters her a lot, and doesn't care for their children. What should she do? Ifeoma

A: She should cancel the divorce proceedings, because God hates divorce. (Mal. 2:16) Then get filled with the Holy Spirit.

Since he is unsaved, she has authority over her household in Christ, and must use that power to bind the demons influencing her husband. Most likely she has not discovered the limitless power she has when Spirit-filled and dares to believe.

As she exercises the power of Jesus' Name, the Lord will transform the situation, and protect her from harm.

Her battle is not against her husband, but against the evil powers trying to destroy her family. God wants her to learn about the power He has given believers.

I know a man who was on his way to kill somebody. He had a loaded gun in his pocket, and was in a whirlwind of anger, but the Lord stopped him in his tracks when he heard a street-preacher, and saved him on the spot.

Since then he's been an evangelist with a worldwide miracle ministry.

The Lord has done this countless times; He transforms murderers, terrorists, prostitutes, and junkies, into saints. It simply needs someone to believe, and boldly exercise faith in love.

Your sister also needs to be encouraged and built-up in a good fellowship. There are plenty of wives who have pulled their husbands out of the Devil's mouth by faith in the Living God. She needs to listen to them, and learn from their example.
