Dead Religion or a Living Relationship

Q: I'm a Born Again Christian, my husband was raised Lutheran. He believes it was in confirmation class that he brought Jesus into his life, through the teachings he received. So when I talk about being "saved" he states that he already feels Jesus is with him, yet he can never look back and see a defining moment when he accepted Christ. Can you help? Jenny

A: Confirmation is a man-made religious tradition, it simply makes confirmed sinners. To become a Christian you must be born again; born of God by repentance and genuine faith in The LORD Jesus Christ. (Jn. Ch. 3, Ro. 10:9-10)

Confirmation is a useless ritual performed by men: The New Birth is accomplished by God the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:4-7). A repentant sinner receives Jesus Christ as Saviour, and is baptised into Him by the Holy Spirit.

Lutheran, Anglican, or Episcopalian confirmation is a ceremonial religious counterfeit of the real thing. Its greatest danger lies in the effect it has on those seduced by it. They are deluded into claiming they are Christians, whilst having missed the genuine New Birth. It's a common satanic ploy to immunise sinners against the Truth. Just as your husband demonstrates.

Lutherans, and Anglicans are back in bed with The Harlot (Rev. 17:5), and effectively Roman Catholic in all but name. Dead wood destined for burning.

Convincing your husband will need grace, love, and patience, as well as a determined faith in the Living Word of God.

Many wives face similar situations with an unsaved husband (like you), or a carnal 'Christian' husband.

Here's some tips:

Put yourself in his shoes. Recall what it was like to be religious, but unsaved, and how clueless he is about true salvation. Ask yourself, "If that was me, what would convince me?"

Take authority in the spirit realm. Be filled with the Holy Spirit, get in the Spirit, and deal with the real enemy, the spiritual forces controlling your husband, and influencing your home. (Eph. 6:12) As a Christian you have this authority and power, use it. If you don't know how to: Learn: How to be strong in the Lord.

Never let him think you accept his current Christian confession; he's wrong, and you must let him know that you know he is wrong. It's best to get this position sorted out once and for all, so that you don't fall into the snare of trying to nag him to Christ. Have a heart-to-heart about it, tell him you're not going to accept him as a Christian until he really is saved the Bible way, but meanwhile reassure him you are going to give him room to find out himself, and that you will love him, and stand by him, no matter what.

Ask Jesus to reveal Himself to your husband, and grant him repentance unto faith, so that he will be born of God; believe He has answered you, then keep believing while He works on him. You just observe with faith, and shine for Jesus around your home, both in word and deed. It may take a day, or 60 years, but trust the promise of Christ, to do what you ask in His Name. (Jn. 14:13-14, 16:24) God will not let His Word fail you when you only believe.

The best way to market bread is to make it fresh and let the aroma out

The idea is to make Hubby hungry for the Truth by what he sees in you, whilst under the conviction of the Lord.

God will not force him to believe, and you cannot. He must choose.

Here's a remarkable true testimony about a wife who believed God for 27 years for her husband's salvation. He died in his sins, but his wife would not let God's promise fail her, she believed for a miracle.

The Amway snare

Q: Is it okay for a Christian to be in a networking, or multi-level marketing, business? Espiritu

A: You would be wise to tread carefully, and only proceed if the Lord gives you definite confirmation. Such schemes target Christians because they are more trusting (and sometimes gullible), and have a ready-made network of friends to sell to. That should sound alarm bells in your spirit.

Many of these home business projects spring from post-Christian America. So it is easy to find degenerate American "Christian" fellowships marketing dubious underwear, dodgy New Age diets, cosmetics for the self-obsessed, and all manner of quack health supplements. What would Jesus say to them? There's a clue in Lk. 19:46. They will become even worse before He returns. 2 Tim. 3:1-5.

The deadliest MLM peril is that it can easily subvert your life priority, and you end up serving filthy lucre, and not the LORD Jesus Christ. Lk. 16:13 is Christ warning of the danger. This happened to a very good friend of mine, who, thankfully, realised the trap and got out before it was too late.

He told me, "I used to engage people in conversation to get the Gospel over, but now I find it is to sell them nutritional supplements!"

Next, it can poison your relationships with other believers. They sense you are trying to sell to them, rather than enjoy fellowship. Can you imagine the effect of your "subtle marketing"? Hint: I buy plastic boxes in the supermarket, not at Tupperware parties.

Often the MLM schemes involve you buying significant quantities of stock to sell, and so you fall into a financial snare right from the off.

That is my opinion; you must seek the Lord, then decide for yourself.
