Breaking hereditary curses

A: When a person genuinely receives Christ, they are completely redeemed from all Satan's power by simple faith in Christ's finished Sacrifice. The instant a sinner accepts Christ His Blood breaks every hereditary curse. They switch families from Satan's to God's. It is good to get new believers to declare this basic Gospel fact as soon as they accept Christ. Col. 1:13, Eph. 1:7, 1 Jn. 3:1-10, Rev. 12:11a.

Balaam's Ass

A: That's easy: Both! Because you exist in time, and eternity is timeless. Ph. 4:3, Rev. 3:5, 20:12-27.

Remember, God wants everyone to come to repentance, and faith in Christ (2 Pe. 3:9b). So don't waste time in tedious discussion about predestination, and election. Preach Jesus to every creature as He commands (Mk. 16:15), and trust Him to Judge justly.

A: Four things: Get baptised in water, baptised in the Holy Spirit, then walk with God as His friend, partner, and lover. 1 Jn. Ch.3. And tell the whole world what He has done for them Mt. 28:19-20.

A: Anyone who truly loves God will accept His Son as LORD and Saviour, and obey Him. Jn. 8:42, 14:15. People who claim to love God whilst rejecting the Lordship of Christ are deceiving themselves. 1 Jn. 3:10.

A: We owe a huge debt to John Huss, but for his courage we'd still be in Catholic religious bondage. What he prophesied whilst being burned alive, God rapidly made good. Because John stood for Christ, he was endorsed by God.

Praying in the Spirit

A: Indeed: Eph. 6:24 tells us to pray in tongues as well as our mother tongue. Ro. 8:26-27 tells us what the Holy Spirit is doing: Interceding for the saints through us. And James 1:5-6 encourages us to ask God for wisdom and understanding about anything. So it's perfectly Scriptural to ask Him, 'Lord what are we praying about now?'

And of course in the different matter of speaking in tongues, (as distinct from praying in tongues in personal devotion) we have a clear instruction in 1 Co. 14:13.

The origin of dreams

A: Either our own mind, demons, or God. Most are simply 'home-grown', Satan uses 'night-terrors' (demons) to oppress with nightmares, and God occasionally uses dreams to speak to people. Warning: Avoid falling into the New Age occult trap of 'interpreting dreams'. If you get one from God, you will know what it means.

God has no favourites

A: No, God loves us all the same, the wicked and the righteous: He has no favourites. Ac. 10:4, Ro. 2:11, Eph. 6:9, Jas. 2:9.

Why Christ's Blood is important

A: Christ is Almighty God in the Flesh. Jn. 1:1, Col. 2:9. He gave His life to redeem His Creation. Jn. 3:16. His life is in His Blood, Lev 17:11. The Blood of Christ seals the New Covenant guaranteeing Salvation to all who embrace it. Mt. 26:28, 1 Co. 11:25, 1 Pe. 1:19, Rev. 1:5.

A: No, it was a sign of the covenant God made with Abram, and his descendants. Gen. Ch.17. It symbolised the New Covenant circumcision done by the Holy Spirit. True Christians are circumcised in heart by God Himself. Ro. 2:29 Circumcision in the flesh is now obsolete, and has no spiritual value whatsoever. 1 Co. 7:19, Gal 5:2.

A: David (formerly 'Paul') Yonggi Cho is a Korean pastor leading the largest single fellowship on earth; over 1 million Spirit-filled believers. God used a little woman to lead him to Christ, and he was sponsored by Dr. T.L. Osborn in his early days. The luke-warm west has been spat out. Rev. 3:16. Most missionaries and evangelists will be Chinese, or Korean, when Christ returns.

The New Birth in the OT

Q: Why did Jesus expect Nicodemus to know about the New Birth, since as you mentioned in one article, the Born Again experience only became available after His resurrection? Michael from Australia

A: Because it is specifically prophesied in the OT many times beforehand, for example, Jer. 4:4, 24:27, 31:33, Ez. Ch. 37 etc. Throughout the OT God also foreshadows the New Birth in the themes of judgment, destruction, and rebuilding of Israel and Jerusalem. Not a patching-up, but a brand new creation. As Israel's teacher, Nick ought to have both known about, and understood, the coming New Birth. That is why Jesus rebuked him.

When is the Rapture?

A: Mtt. 24:36: The Textus Receptus based Tyndale's translation, and the KJV, do not have the 'nor the Son' exclusion found in some translations. Though it is certainly implied in the TR by the phrase, 'but my Father only'. (Note the word 'man' was added by Tyndale, and used in the KJV.)

It is important to remember that Christ operated on earth by restricting Himself to the Incarnation. Col. 2:9. He identified totally with mankind. That is why Almighty God in the Flesh could say His Father was greater than He. Jn. 14:28. A lovely topic, rich with encouragement and inspiration for us.
