Subscriber's Question and Answer
Suzanne asks: 'I am a born again Christian, and am married. I realize that I am in a difficult situation, since I would like to spread the Gospel to all those around me, but am not allowed to teach men God's word. Must I not teach men at all? Is there any way around this dilemma? I do not want to go against Scripture. Please help me with this!'
Answer: There is nothing in God's Word prohibiting women from proclaiming the Gospel to any creature, male or female. Rather the opposite. For a believing woman not to proclaim Christ's Message to every creature would be plain disobedience to His Final Command.
In Christ there is neither male nor female, (Gal. 3:28) and all believers are ordained to share the Good News with everyone. (Mk. 16:15, Mtt. 28:18-20)
Nor is there any prohibition of women teaching men in general. None. Paul never tried to stop women from teaching men, or proclaiming Christ. That would contradict the revelation of redemption he gave his life for.
'But Colin, what about 1 Timothy 2:12?' you protest.
I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
Oh have I got good news for you! The answer is a hammer blow to those shackles men have used to keep women from obeying Christ for centuries.
Christian women: Are you ready to have your shackles broken?
Suzanne: You are a victim of false teaching, you have been taught error, and Christ wants to set you free right now. Do you want to be really free? Do you desire to obey Him fully?
