Introduction

'Greater love has no-one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.' Holy Bible, Jn. 15:13 NIV

Greetings Lovers!

Regular readers will know that romance is devoid of love, and utterly selfish. In contrast, real love is completely selfless and devoid of romance. If that is a new thought for you, God has something wonderful to show you today.

First we have an illustration of Perfect Love from one of the most beautiful women in the Bible. She understood the difference between romance and love, and teaches us how to walk in divine love.

Dr. Daisy Osborn has inspired and encouraged this ministry by her example and teaching, but some men slandered her as a witch, so we have an article to prepare you women for whatever comes.

In E-Pistles, a diabetic wonders if Jesus will heal him. We encourage all you evangelists to add proof to your message like Paul did. There's advice on how to soar high above the 'glass ceiling' men put over Christian women. And for light-relief we take a humorous look at the origin of Valentine's Day, with a special message for romantic lovers.

One more thing: Tell your friends how you've been blessed through this site but please don't use spam tactics in email or message boards etc. We don't need or want that kind of 'help'.

OK scroll down and hit the chuckle-button Saints!

She was not good-looking, and rejected by men as too hot to handle and deadly dangerous: They were simply terrified by her.

Christian women need more guts than men in order to fulfil the call of Christ on their lives.

Here's an inspirational true story involving a treacherous WWII night-fighter, the greatest woman evangelist of the 20th century, Dr. Daisy Osborn, and a load of grumpy men.

I know you'll love this one ladies.

Editor's Perspective

Woe to rich oppressors

It is historical fact: during the sixty years since WWII ended America has tried to remove fifty, mostly democratically elected, governments. They have also crushed thirty uprisings against tyrannical dictators. The US has bombed no less than twenty-five sovereign nations, killing millions of civilians, and crippling countless more.

Yet, the United States Leaders expect you to believe that its latest motive for the illegal invasion of Iraq is to 'establish democracy and bring freedom'.

Sensible people are asked to accept they would still have done this if Iraq's main resource was cabbages and peanuts. The obvious reason, plundering and controlling the world's major oil reserves, and using them as a lever to further its hegemony, is mocked as 'conspiracy theory'.

Their 'War on Terror' is an illusion created by propagandists and a subservient spineless media. Both the CIA and US Military chiefs warned that invading Iraq would only serve to increase the risk of terrorism, and they have been proved right. The inhuman demonic assault is more appropriately called a 'War on Children', since it is they who bear the brunt of the cruel bombardment. Ninety percent of those killed in Iraq are civilians, mostly children and their mothers. Survivors will develop a deep and understandable hatred of their rich oppressors.

America is waking up to their folly, but it is far too late, the damage has been done. They will receive the wages of their sin, and be appalled at how they have dishonoured the Name above all names.

You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. You have condemned and murdered innocent men, who were not opposing you.
Jas. 5:5-6

The Judge is waiting at the door, and coming soon.

Power Evangelism Tip

Give them the Good News: Then prove it is true

If all you have is words, even God's Word, you will fall short. We must have both God's Word and God's Spirit in evidence to be effective witnesses.

That means you must be able to share the Gospel message, and have the Spirit's power confirming it. That is what the power of Pentecost was sent for, to enable us to be witnesses with living proof of Christ's resurrection.

A dear Indian friend of mine was a street junkie who spent his days smashed out of his brain smoking opium. He was so far gone you couldn't hold a sensible conversation with him. He was beyond words. He told me what happened when two Spirit-filled Christians witnessed to him.

They tried to talk to me but I was drugged up. So they asked if they could pray for me, and I let them, but I had no interest in Jesus. They laid hands on me and prayed in the Spirit for some time. When I came to, I'd lost all desire for drugs, and immediately gave my life to Jesus. No withdrawal symptoms, and I've never taken drugs since then.

This occurred over 15 years ago, and that homeless junkie is now married with two beautiful children, pastors a Tamil fellowship, and has a Masters in Theology. More importantly, he's a Spirit-filled, power-packed, compassionate man of God, with the ability to prove Jesus is alive today.

Paul said,
My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.
1 Co. 2:4-5

Get the power and demonstrate it!
