Pregnant, unwed, then Saved: Should she marry him?

A Belgian subscriber asks: "My sister was pregnant and unmarried when she got saved. After her salvation, I told her not to marry the father of the child because he wasn't a believer, but she didn't listen to me. Did I advise her correctly? Do they have God's blessing on their marriage?"

A: I'm sure you showed her that God's Word is clear on this matter.

Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
2 Co. 6:14

You were right to warn her. She should have sought God, and obeyed Him.

Knowing Jesus, if your sister had lovingly stood her ground before the father of the child, saying something along the line of,

"I love you, and I want only you as my husband, but now that I am a child of God my Father forbids me from marrying a child of the devil. Only after you are truly born again will I ask my Father if I can marry you."

The chap would have been stunned, and profoundly convicted by God's Spirit. He'd have kicked up a fuss, and Christ would have stretched him on His love-rack. (You've all been through that blessed experience haven't you?)

Most likely he'd have been saved in days, and married with God's blessing, instead of struggling in sin.

But all is not lost. They've chosen the long and painful route, however, Christ can still work wonders.

The unsaved husband will be 'sanctified' through the faith of the believing wife. 1 Co. 7:14. Her faith is the key.

If I were you; I'd build her up in Christ as she walks with Him, and lift her out of the well when she calls for help. Don't condemn them for their mistake. Be especially redemptive towards the unsaved husband, and take the flak graciously when he blames you.

Even if you wait years, keep believing: Not begging, believing! And I call on every Christian who reads this, to stand in faith that Christ will redeem this couple, and use them for His Glory.

New Books About Smith Wigglesworth

Though saved as a child, and zealous for souls in manhood, it wasn't until Smith reached middle-age that he received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

That experience transformed him from a tongue-tied plumber, into England's greatest evangelist.

Christ used Wigglesworth to introduce the power baptism in many nations, always accompanied by stunning healing miracles.

Embarrassing skin disease: What is my act of faith?

Lismatt asks: "I've been suffering from a skin disease since 1994, and actively looking for God's healing since 2001. I confess the healing Scriptures daily, meditate on the healing Word, and do everything so that healing faith comes. But my biggest question is the action part.

How can I show faith in action for my skin disease? If I was in a wheelchair I would get up, but skin disease is different. I'm not bound to a wheelchair. I'm just bound to my diseased skin.

Is confessing the Word, not worrying, seeing yourself healed, and praising the Lord for my healing, before it's manifested my act of faith?

I'm embarrassed by this skin condition, and I try to cover my skin, avoid swimming etc., so that people won't notice, but is this something I should boldly confront with my faith, and go ahead and do the things that make me embarrassed? What would you do Colin, if you had a skin disease?"

A: Lismatt, both the problem and the answer are clear in your own question.

You still see yourself as diseased, not healed, you contradict God's Word by declaring yourself, 'Bound to my diseased skin'.

What does God's Word say about Christians and sickness?

You are still walking by sight. Mentally assenting to God's Word without believing it. Walk by faith in God's Word on the matter. That is the victory.

Accept in your heart that you really are healed now. Declare it because you believe it.

"The Blood of Christ has set me free from all disease, and every infirmity!"

Some strain to believe that Gospel fact, and say the words without really believing them in their heart, because they look at symptoms, or listen to medics. So they get nowhere.

Smith Wigglesworth came to a town called Bury (pron. 'Berry', not 'Burry'), in the North of England, ten miles from where I was born. There was a young woman with a large goitre (a thyroid gland problem associated with Iodine deficiency, also called 'Derbyshire neck'). Smith prayed for her, rebuked the thing in Jesus' Name, and immediately she began confessing that she was wonderfully healed.

All around Bury she boasted that God had healed her. However, people called her bonkers, because they could see the goitre was not gone, but getting bigger!

"Look in the mirror!" they mocked her.

But she kept looking at God's Word.
