'For almost two years my husband has abandoned me, he's in America and I am in Africa. Even pastors are advising me to remarry, but my spirit longs for him. I have tried to forget him, but I cannot. I pray continuously, but no reply yet, what can I do? I don't think I can remarry, what can I really do to get reconciled with my husband?'

Answer: Your miracle starts here.

Forget about remarriage, that would make you an adulteress, and you know it. God's Word and His Spirit both testify this to your heart. Stand by the man you are joined to before God, and the Lord will work wonders, you'll see.

Oh how many wayward husbands have been brought back to God by their faithful wives being heard in Heaven. Even Smith Wigglesworth backslid, and it was the steadfast faith and love of his wife that restored him, and enabled him to complete his course. Smith said, 'Everything I am in Christ, I owe to my dear wife Polly.'

Here's what to do:

1) Repent of all sin that the Lord makes you aware of, get filled with God's Spirit, and get into the Glory. Establish your case from God's Word, and rest fully on the righteousness of Christ to claim it. You have a rock-solid position. There are many Scriptures you can use for this particular predicament.

2) Ask Father in the Name of Jesus. (First understand what that means.) Pray the prayer of faith ONCE for your husband's return, binding Satan's influence on his life using the Authority Christ has given you over all the devil's works.

3) Believe God has heard, and answered you, then thank Him for the answer.

4) Never pray for this again, that would be unbelief. Simply thank God and praise Him for His faithfulness, and for the impregnable integrity of His Word that never fails anyone who trusts it.

5) Get ready for your husband's return, don't chastise him for his folly, forgive him, love Him with the love of Christ, and show him Jesus in his wife.

Here's a true story to encourage your faith.

An English missionary was staying in a dormitory of a guesthouse in a Muslim nation. One day he awoke to see a distinguished African gentleman in his 50's arise from the adjacent bed, and put on his suit. The missionary had prayed for the Lord to bring people to him who were ready to hear the Gospel, so he introduced himself, chatted with him, and asked if he was born again. The man was from Nigeria, and replied, 'I'm a deacon in my home church.' The missionary persisted, 'Yes Sir, but have you been born again?' and showed him John 3:3. To which the man gave the reply, 'I don't believe I've had that experience.'

The Christian invited him to a Gospel Crusade that evening, and left it at that.

During the meeting the full Gospel was proclaimed, and the Lord did many wonderful healing miracles; the deaf heard, cripples were healed, and the Christian was thrilled to see the African was one of the first to respond to the invitation for salvation.

The following morning the Christian woke to discover the chap excitedly writing a letter on his bed. It was then that he told his story. He was running away from his wife in Africa, to start a new life teaching English in Japan. In all his many years of denominational church going, he'd never seen a single miracle of God, and now realised he'd never actually been saved until the previous night. He was writing to his wife, asking her to forgive him, and telling her about the joy of his salvation. That same day he changed his air ticket to go back home ... where God wanted him.

Go to those who will listen

Christ didn't waste time in His ministry on earth, and we shouldn't either. When people told Him to clear-off, He did, and found people who would listen. As soon as you begin to reach out for Christ, Satan will try to distract you with time-wasters. Learn to recognize the trap, and be alert for the leading of the Lord. For example when you go street preaching, the cults always come to argue doctrine and challenge your authority. Simply bind the demonic spirit in them, and carry on proclaiming the Good News. Don't get distracted.

Then there are those sinners who love to ask lots of questions to avoid coming to Christ. Answer the reasonable ones, but once I spent a whole day answering every question a Swedish weightlifter asked me. Finally he said, 'Thank you, nobody has ever answered me so clearly before.' But when I invited him to repent and receive Christ, he said not today he wanted to think about it more! He's probably still dreaming up questions to ask. Yet many times since I've led people to Christ with just a few sentences. The difference was they were ready to listen, repent and believe. Go for those!
