Colloquial explanations of Christian jargon.
Annual period corresponding with the Jewish Passover during which Christians remember the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ for us.
A Roman Catholic initiative attempting to regain control over nominal Protestant groups by encouraging compromise on fundamentals of the faith thus subverting the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Most traditional denominations have been duped into throwing aside the Reformation, and are back in bed with the Harlot (Rev. 17) These include Anglicans, Episcopalian, Methodist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, some 'Baptists' and others. Real Christians reject the Ecumenical Movement, and follow Christ.
Refers to the bread and the wine of the Lord's Supper. They are emblematic of the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, given to remind Christians taking communion that His body was broken for them and His Blood shed for the remission of their sins. They signify the full physical and spiritual redemption of a believer. They are described as emblems, because they do not become the actual Body and Blood of Christ as the Roman Catholic cult blasphemously teaches.
God's Word teaches that this earth will pass away at the culmination of the current dispensation of Grace, when Jesus returns to Judge mankind. Jesus described the period leading up to this as 'the end' and told believers to watch for the signs of His return. This period is known as the end times, and we are in them right now, so make sure you are ready to face God and give account to Him, at your Judgment.
Term used to describe Christians who practise evangelism. Since all Christians should be obeying Christ and evangelising, you can see it's a euphemism to delineate nominal 'Christians' from real Christians. But it carries with it a degree of formalism approaching deadness that comes from its UK Anglican roots. I identify its use with the lukewarm set. Another reason to avoid it, is its popularity amongst the ecumenical movement. Evangelicals regard themselves as hot-stuff, but they are in fact lukewarm, few are genuinely Spirit-filled.
To spread, communicate, and teach, the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ.
A demon, a fallen angel. A third of all angels joined Lucifer in the rebellion against God, and were cast out of Heaven to earth. Lucifer became Satan, and his angels became demons. They are created beings with no bodies, able to influence people through thoughts, the flesh, and senses. They endeavour to cause people to sin, and destroy them. Degrees of influence vary from oppression to possession. Most sickness is due to evil spirits, (Ac. 10:38), but complete deliverance comes through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Spirit-filled believers have authority over evil spirits through faith in the Name of Jesus. There's more on demons and evil spirits here
Many Christians have no idea of the authority given to them by Christ. Rev. Hagin's book will get you exercising authority in spiritual warfare.
