As it was in the beginning

Come, let's remember your first Love.

How long you wandered in the desert of sin, lurching between the painful deceits of pleasure, like a drunken sailor cracking his head on lamp posts.

Squandering your life as you pleased, it fell short of your expectations, and left you bruised and rolling in the gutter.

What were you here for? Worldly success is a shallow cup of Wormwood; sweet to taste, but bitter in the belly. 'There's got to be more to life than this.'

You searched for God and failed to find Him, whilst His handiwork was all around. 'He doesn't exist', your mind lied. Your heart pined for Truth. Desperate, you sampled one 'truth', then another, and another, as each crumbled in your grasp. Thank God He didn't leave you to deception and religion.

You slid into the sump of sin, at home in charge of your destiny, if not your desires. Selfishness reigned, and ruined everything you touched.

When God shows up, He's surely going to hang you from a high tree. It's what you deserve, and your heart agreed.

You wilted in the desert sun, shrivelled under your burden of guilt, and waited to die.

Judgment and wrath towered over you with drawn sword.

Then He came

He's coming soon

God came to where you were.

You didn't come to Him, He came to you.

He found you, you didn't find Him.

The Creator of the Universe, and Judge of all men, God approached you in your sin.

He chose to come, not in divine wrath, not to exact righteous judgment, but to place in your arms a new born Babe.

Almighty God in the Flesh

God looked down, saw a wicked, corrupt, selfish world, without a single righteous person, and arrived as a helpless Baby.

Instead of vengeful Justice, He offered Himself as a harmless Infant. The invincible Almighty Creator drops into your arms saying,

'Look at me, I am your Maker, I spoke the Universe into being. I entrust myself to you. This is Me, my Word made Flesh. My will being done on earth.'

You beheld The Word of God

What would you choose to do with Him? Accept Him, caress and nurture Him, love Him, and give Him your all? Or continue to reject His Word?

This Baby is your Judge.

He was sent to become your Saviour.

Look into those Infant eyes, let Him see His prize for the first time.

Are you worth the price He will pay for you?

That child will grow as you did, but never yield to temptation. He will live and walk under God's Law, and keep it faultlessly. He will do that in His humanity. Where you failed, He will triumph: As a Man.

He will please God and fulfil His will on earth; healing every sick person who comes to Him, forgiving every sinner who accepts Him, and then offer Himself to death in your place.

The Living Word of God would be: whipped, tortured, crucified, and delivered over to death as your Substitute.

For you

When He has paid for all your guilt He will become the Firstborn from amongst the dead, a 'type' of the New Creation.

Your 'Prototype'.

He arose, ascended, and sat down. Mission accomplished.

Reject or Accept Him: Your choice

God is Love, and Love trusts you to accept the Truth wholeheartedly.

He put the Truth in your arms, and expects you to simply look to, listen to, and believe in Him.

In return He cancels your sin debt, and implants His Spirit, His Eternal Life, into your heart forever. He makes you a New Creation, bearing the righteousness of God. Innocent as Christ, in God's Presence. Accepted in the beloved forever.

God's Gift to you, His enemy

That's God, That's Jesus: That is the message of Christmas.

He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.

He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.

Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God - children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. Jn. 1:10-13 NIV

Behold The Babe: What will you do with Him?

Receive The Word into your heart: Accept Christ as Saviour

My Word created all things, and I give Him to you. My Word made Flesh
