God have mercy on me!

One of the most thrilling success stories in God's Word is of a person just like you. It's in the Holy Bible, Matthew 15:21-31 NIV. You will see yourself portrayed in this account.

Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out,

"Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession."

Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him,

"Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us."

He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel."

The woman came and knelt before him.

"Lord, help me!" she said.

He replied, "It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs."

"Yes, Lord," she said, "but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master's table."

Then Jesus answered, "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted."

And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

Demon Possessed Girl

A sinner, driven to distraction by a demon possessing her daughter, called on the LORD Jesus Christ for help, and He fixed the whole thing with a word. Your problem may be completely different, but He will help you too: only believe and cry out for His help.

If you are sick and in pain: Jesus will heal you now.

If you cannot stop sinning, and want to be free of guilt: Christ will cleanse you, and make you a new person with power to overcome every temptation.

If you are afraid, harassed, confused, or controlled by problems: the LORD Jesus Christ will give you peace, and wisdom that will set you free.

Follow the example of this woman, and you will receive the same answer from Christ.

You have great faith! Your request is granted.

Meet the conditions she met, and God will give you complete success.

Will you do that? Then you are ready for your miracle to begin.

Does God Use Doctors?

You have already done many things like this sinner woman in a fruitless attempt to find a solution.

She'd no doubt tried every medical potion she could afford. The poor mother was willing to spend everything she had to heal her suffering daughter, but it was a total waste of time and money. The source of the problem was not medical, but spiritual. Just like yours.

Doctors, pills and therapies cannot remove your sin. At best they only alleviate symptoms, and usually fail to do even that. God's answer gets at the root of the problem: He fixes the sin, and the symptoms disappear. Medics experiment on your body, Jesus heals you completely in spirit, soul, and body. God does not use doctors to heal: He heals by His Spirit anointed Word:

He sent forth His word and healed them. Ps. 107:20

Dogs Are Outside the Kingdom

You have more in common with her; she was an outsider, a Canaanite. Christ was sent under the Old Covenant only to Israel, to the Jews under the Law. (After He initiated the New Covenant, He expanded the Church's mission to include Gentiles.) All of us are born outsiders: sinners, children of the Devil. Our sinful nature separates us from God and His blessings. Only through accepting Christ's Sacrifice on our behalf are we made righteous children of God, under His blessings.

Jesus called it being born again, because it is the start of a brand new life with God as Father and Lord. Do you want that today? Then be willing to turn away from sin and receive Christ as your LORD and Saviour by childlike faith.

He said, For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jn. 3:16

Do what Jesus said, believe in Him with all your heart and His life will come into you.

Dead End Religion

Because she was a sinner, she no doubt tried worshipping the false gods and idols of her culture. She had offered sacrifices in the groves, at the high places, and perhaps you have done likewise. Have you meddled with occult New Age therapies, acupuncture, aromatherapy and such like? Have you worshipped idols with Roman Catholics, Buddhists, Muslims, and Hindus? Understand that all worship not directed to the LORD Jesus Christ is idolatrous.

Repent and worship only Jesus like this woman learned to do.

There's only one way to God. He told us so Himself:

I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me. Jn. 14:6

Religions teach the lie that there are many ways to God, and several mediators to 'help' you. God's Word declares the truth:

There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus who gave himself as a ransom for all men. 2 Tim. 2:5-6

The Virgin Mary, Buddha, Mohammed, Krishna, priests, prophets, and gurus can do nothing to bridge the gulf between you and Almighty God: Only God in the Flesh, the LORD Jesus Christ, can do that.

She Heard the Good News and Called

The Canaanite mother tried religion; it failed her, but when she heard about Jesus, and called on Him, she met the Living God who solved her problem.

What else did she do?

She called with all her heart to Jesus for help. Do the same. Though His followers rebuffed her, He did not reject her. Don't let 'Christians' put you off Christ. Some preachers don't believe Jesus does miracles today, they destroy faith in Him. Ignore them and listen to God's Word in The Flesh who promised:

If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. Mtt. 21:22

That is the promise of God, which cannot be broken.

That is why He described the woman's faith as great. Though she accepted the fact that she was not entitled to receive God's help under the Old Covenant, she believed He could fix her daughter by driving out the demon with a single command. She believed that because she'd heard what Jesus had done for others.

I'm a witness to you. Listen; I've seen Him open blind eyes, heal cancer, drive out devils, and heal all manner of infirmities and diseases right in front of me. I've seen Him heal broken marriages, turn drug addicts into pastors, transform harlots into saints, provide everyday material blessings, and get a job for the jobless.

Don't Stop Believing

Nothing is impossible with God: Jesus works miracles today as of old wherever believers believe like in Bible times. What He did for those people, He will do for you now: Only believe!

Finally, notice the woman was desperate and determined. She was not stopped by the disciple's cold shoulder. Not even by Christ's initial evasive response. She came to Christ believing He could, and would, fix her problem. She had no 'plan B', she was not experimenting. She was committed to receiving from Christ what she believed He would do for her: and God obliged.

God's Word declares: Anyone who trusts (in Christ) will never be dismayed. Ro. 10:11, Is. 28:16b

Now is the time for you to press in for your portion. You won't be dismayed.

Look at this: a single 'crumb' from the Master's table was sufficient to deliver a girl possessed by a demon. Remember, healing is the children's bread.

Jesus loves you as much as He loves anyone. He wants to help you.

Get right with God: become His child by being born again, then claim your Blood bought right to salvation, healing, and deliverance.

Believe on Christ now and with all your heart call:

Lord have mercy, help me!
